I predicted when Troy Mann was hired for the Belleville job that he would be the next Senators coach after Boucher. He has done a great job with Wolanin, Batherson and even Logan Brown. I’d be quite happy with him as the new coach.

The top 3 names on that list should be tossed out immediately

Get permission to talk to Luke Richardson.
Mend the fence.
Sign him and give him total control.

I'd be happy with Troy, Nate or Sheldon. Get the old folks outta here.

Hakstal- good to get them through the couple development years before they are ready to contend for a playoff spot

Mike Vellucci, but you'd have to give him some executive control over his roster as well.

Not that it would ever happen but wonder if you put aside their names and just focus on their playing ability, would this trade make sense?

Nazem Kadri FOR Cody Ceci

That’s a great deal for Ottawa..........that’s a TERRIBLE deal for the leafs. That wouldn’t be hall/Larson bad, but it would be close.

Kadri is TEN TIMES the player Ceci is.

The biggest issue with the new coach will be if he is willing to lock in long term and possibly be comfortable with key talent constantly leaving. This team won’t be competitive for at least 2-3 years then Melnyk is hoping for a lightning in a bottle run and then key players up for contracts will likely be moved. Difficult road for a coach if they don’t go all the way with the first run.

I respect your opinion....

that said.....IMO....reeeeeeeeelax. Comparing Hall to Kadri is like comparing Gretzky to James Neal.

Kadri is a good 2nd/3rd line center (much like Jordan Staal was when he left PIT).... but when it comes to playoff success they go in different directions

Providence Alumn here that went to school when he was coaching there. Nate Leaman is a phenomenal coach and would make a great hire.

I'd like to see Guy Carbonneau make a comeback... he was a great coach.
