They easily could, but not every player cares to represent their country during these tournaments. Some prefer the extra time off and spend it with their loved ones. Since they don't get much time to do so during the season.

That being said, who is coaching the team. Or they haven't chosen a coach yet?

Kyle Turris has the temerity to show up after this season? Yeesh. He should be spending the offseason training and looking in the 6mil mirror he bought.

He will find the range and pad his stats against Latvia or Ubekistan or Turkey if they are in it.

Not everyone can have the offensive skillset of Ryan Reaves.

'It's not always the players. Team Canada wants to give some younger players the opportunity to play in international tournaments as well.

Many of these guys stand no shot right now of making a REAL Team Canada. But maybe some in the future might.

I think Crosby had said he was going to take the extra time to rest. Said he wasn't injured, just he's getting older and the extra time off would be useful for him.

Does playing in a competitive tournament against many of the best players in the world count as training?

Seems like a good way to improve as a player (if the implication is that he needs to improve as a player)

6 or 7 games isn't really going to do much, but really, what you see is what you get with Turris. He'll probably never be better than a 3rd line centre on a good team.

Yeah it's not long. But this is a time of year when plenty of other players will be resting/vacationing at the beach or whatever. Surely they (and Turris) will be training in the off-season.

Just the idea of criticizing Turris for playing in this tournament instead of training is ridiculous. It's not like he's slacking off

oh i see. I do'nt think the post you originally responded to was being genuine when they were commenting on him needing some training, rather they were mocking his salary and goal production.

turris hasn't played much hockey in May throughout his career..... Maybe that's what he's aiming for.

People are about to see how very good and extremely underrated Sam Reinhart is. That kid can play.
