Anthony Travalgia: Two defensemen, two big plays Brandon Carlo and Charlie McAvoy made two of the game's biggest plays in a 4-3 Bruins Game 5 victory.

That McIlvoy is one hell of a player and will be a STUD for years to come!
The BIG trio, was the BIG trio.....stepped up when they had too.

Great series so far....but a small warning. Jackets aren't done. They will NOT lie down and quit. I still think B's win the series....but they have a lot of work to do yet!

Great hockey. Good luck to you guys!

I mean honestly everyone is saying how BAD Chara looked, Ok so Who I ask isnt in this whole playoffs, Krug is god awful in BOTH ends of the rink, how many times has he missed the net, people are raving about Carlo and McAvoy, Carlo had at least 5 giveaways that led directly to grade A chances and at least 1 goal, Grez scored on Rask. Chucky got walked around at least 3 times in the final 12 minutes I mean the WHOLE defense has looked bad at times. Chara was out there at the end for one reason, with a minute left the Jackets are just going to throw anything and everything at the Net, (which they did) Chances are that it's going to come down to a bounce, a 6'-9" Dman even at 42 years old is going to have the best chance at getting his stick on the puck, EVEN Marshy was coughing the puck up his own end with the game on the line and a clear chance to clear it at some point we need to give the Jackets credit, THEY created the turnover, THEY have alot to do with what is going on.
The most consistant player on the Team is "Nordstrom" I freaking flipped when I saw the starting playoff roster and #20 is in. But you know what Cassidy was right, he's been great. Lets let Bruce do his Job and see where it goes , AND this is 2 games in a Row that Tuukka has been ELITE, yes if Tuukka lets in just a single bad goal, We Lose. I Still say this series is going 7 games, Let's get it done Boys. !!!!!

Chara will have his haters, but most don't truely appreciate what he brings to the table. He is a force back there and yah he has his struggles like everyone else. He is a beast still and wears players down over a 7 game series.

its a long game, no one player is going to be perfect, yeah, marshmont gotta clear the zone, chara is a steady, heavy, presence. I think Carlo is playing the best hockey he's ever played. And McAvavoy, he's a kid thats been playing above his head since he got here. the good plays out weigh the bad.

The problem has been the eye popping turnovers. Carlo, Krug, Chara, March, Pasta
have all had unforced turnovers. The good thing is that its pretty unusual so hopefully
it stops. McAvoy is the only one playing with supreme confidence. He of course
isn't perfect but he is showing plenty.

Disgusting to read all the Chara bashing. I’ve never seen a player receive so much criticism. Check who’s leading the playoffs in plus minus! Um yup Chara +9!!!

Going to get a game or fine for that hit. Can't make that play... simply can't do it.

Wow.

McAvoy given A MINOR for that poopty check to the head. Numerous players have been given 5 and game with a hearing for less.

Yet another case of a Bruins player being under-penalized. Shocking.

Also appears that McAvoy left his feet. What. A. (frank)ing. Joke.

Was a bad hit, I dont think intentional, McAvoy isn’t a dirty player.

Agreed but you have to be bang on in the hits. Hit caught him high, got a penalty, wasn't worth 5 and the league will chat with him at least.

Like other players with say a history of head shot suspensions.. Ala Kadri?

Anderson was fine after being checked out.
Penalty was called.
Wasn't a retaliation hit, wasn't predatory, Not all hits to the head are majors. Nor suspension worthy Etc etc.

Either way league will look at it as they should.
A good chat or fine, possibly a game will be enough.

McDavid and a number of others have received 2 games for the exact same hit, while quite a few were also first time offenders. It's a poopty hit and you can't defend it.

That exact hit happens to any Bruins player and you guys would be pissed with a 2 min minor, especially in a 1 goal game.

Well.. Let's see.
My first post said Bye McAvoy... you just can't make that hit.
Never once defended the hit, in fact I said that he's likely going to hear from the league. No (frank)ing way it's a 5 though. Penalty yes, reviewable like all head shots yes.
Not all headshots are suspension worthy or major penalties.

Yes! What a win!
Columbus got (4) straight PP and are whining about the Mccavoy hit not being a major. 3 out of those 4 were very weak stick infraction calls. An overturned goal and (4) straight PP, sure let’s discuss officiating and how the Bruins get away with everything.

I think Charlie will get 1 game. No more.
