I can't see where there would be much if any controversy about this play. Like the play in the Winnipeg series on Brayden Schenn's goal, the rule seems to have been written as if the play in question was exactly the type of play the rule was written to interpret.

Not to mention, Bishop has not hesitated to lay himself out on the ice on more than once throughout this series as if hit by a sniper's rifle.

I would not make a conscious effort to change the way I shoot in this game, unless you want numerous shots to bang off the glass or rim around and out of the zone.

AP27 can only hit the net 2 out of 30 attempts already on a good night.

I tell you what will work - getting the puck up to the top of the zone to 55 and watch the sea of green come up to pressure him. Leaving guys down low open.....

They gave him waaaaayyyy too much space on that shot and then parted like the red sea. He doesn't get the opportunity at a full wind-up on his shot that often. That was awesome.

Blues just need to play their game from start to finish and they will win this series, as they should.

If you change the rules, goalies will exploit it, such as when their players are exhausted. Nothing wrong with the rule as it stands.

I don't see why the blogger had to go into detail to justify a correctly called goal. Is that were we are in 2019? I'd give my left arm to watch a game where the media and fans aren't focusing so intently on EVERY SINGLE NON-CALL.

I believe it was Forrest Gump who said, "Sh!t Happens." Indeed.

My twitter feed suggested it needed to be covered. I sometimes really miss the days of no reviews and just living with the calls made on the ice.

As I like to say, you have to win regardless of officiating.

Weird side note - Bishop has played an elimination game @ the Enterprise Center (name was different then but same building).

Bishop lost 4-2 after giving up 4 unanswered goals in the 2007 NCAA Frozen Four, posting an 86% save percentage.

Did the Blues get an indirect gift from the NHL when they changed the goalie C/A specs before the season?

"The majority of the sizing restrictions are to the shoulder floaters and upper body area"
"Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury added an extra undershirt to provide some more padding"
""It was tight and hard to move and you got exposed in a couple areas where you had to talk to Kay and make sure it was OK to cover your shoulders," Lundqvist said."
"Sooner or later someone's going to get hurt pretty bad," Holtby said after feeling the sting of a few shots at a morning skate. "You can deal with bumps and bruises and stuff. It's when you hope someone doesn't get a broken bone or some sort out of it."
Philadelphia's Brian Elliott complained of bruises early in the season in an interview with the Courier-Post, and two-time Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky of the Blue Jackets last week told the Columbus Dispatch he fears getting hit by pucks and called the equipment change "terrible."

If Bishop had the beefier C/A from last year, would he have gone down? It's interesting to think about though it doesn't really matter.

I thought about that right when it happened, I haven't seen any of the new chest protectors or how much it covers though. Also wonder why they don't use the padded shirts for extra protection.

A lot use various versions of padded shirts. Remember it's a balance in that you want to be able to move fluidly but still be protected and teetering on the right balance is a bit art and science.

Terrible positioning by Joannette after the non call on the contact with Binnington which causes him to lose his stick. Win regardless of officiating

Officials should be allowed to wave off those sorts of goals, the same way they waved it of when it hit Peel, hit the Florida goalie, and went in a while back. Series should be over, not going to OT.

And what a terrific game by Bishop.

What a game. Love the creativity and confidence of the offense right now.

Shout out to Jarmo for drafting some of the players.

Thanks! Wow that was a dominating performance. When we find that final gear we totally control the game. Bishop was terrific, but so was Binnington! Thomas is phenomenal!

Unreal. He was so nervous in the first playoff game against Winnipeg he was whiffing on his passes - to being one of the Blues' very best.

He has been completely insane the last two games. One of the best players on the ice of everyone. And.......he's looking to shoot more

Schenn could have had 4 goals last night.

I still can't believe Benn missed that wrap around for the series winner.
