Top 3 realistic places for Marleau to play next year other than Toronto if they sit down and have a discussion with him and get him to waive his NMC.
Colorado. Long Island. Carolina.
All 3 teams went to the 2nd round (or 3rd).
All 3 teams have cap space to fit him.
All 3 teams are on a budget so July 2nd the salary will be really affordable for them.
If he wants to retire, Detroit and Arizona are top of the list. |

How many trips to the press box can he endure?
How many times have we seen a NMC player get moved, even when we thought it was impossible?
Clarkson and Phaneuf come to mind.
If a team doesn't want a player, that player gets the message and gets moved eventually. The NMC just gives him control of where he lands.
If he wants to play and chase a Cup, there's a few teams out there that can still fit him and make everybody happy. |

Colorado would be a good choice. Good young team already. Add Makar and the 4th pick, maybe Kaut makes the team. They could use some veteran leadership. |

Colorado is a pretty nice place to live, not too far from San Jose either. |

What are the guesses on Panarins deal this off season? Bob? Duchene? Myers? |

Panarin - 9+
Duchene - 7+
Myers - 6+
Bob - Big wild card. Haven't had a two time Vezina winner hit the UFA market in a long time.
Almost makes you think what the Leafs could get for Andersen and sign Bob. |

Why for being right? Marleau is NOT going anywhere. Time to get over it. It ain't happening. Bottom line unless he retires he will be here next year, likely third line BUT... |

Panarin signs with the Rangers for 10.5 x 7.
Bob signs with the Panthers for 9 x 7.
Duchene signs with the Sabres for 9 x 7.
Myers signs with Minnesota for a can of sweet corn. |

Clarkson's contract is in Vegas.
Phaneuf is in Los Angeles via Ottawa (proving he got moved TWICE).
It's not impossible.
If a team goes to a player and says, we can't keep you here anymore, the player eventually moves on. The NMC just allows him to pick where he lands. |

Big difference... we are not ditching him off. Players all love him. Coach likes him. One more year on the contract with a NMC we gave him. You don't treat a respected vet you signed that way like that. Not even remotely the same as Clarkson or Pylon at all.
You want to kill any UFA chance you treat Marleau like that.
It isn't impossible but it also isn't happening. You guys need to find something else.
Brown, Zaitsev, even Kadri are more likely gone than Marleau. It is that simple. |

Blah blah, players love him. That's not going to stop a trade. Players love winning more. They also love getting paid. Marleau isn't going to hang around if they ask him to leave and take more cake away from Marner.
UFAs sign to win or get paid. Trading Marleau doesn't change that. They treated him well for 2 years.
Marleau has served his purpose. And yes, Brown is probably going to be traded too. But Kadri and Zaitsev have a more useful future with the Leafs. |

Not that surprising really.... playoff games remember. 1 playoff game = 2 regular season so 2 would have been 4 regular games. McAvoy doesn't have a real history there either I do not believe so.... I figured 1 game was going to be the call, IF the league had any guts. Am more surprised it was not just a fine or a stern talking to. |

Do you really think Babs is a big enough POS to do that to a hall of famer? He's a Leaf, he will play, he isn't going anywhere. And Dubas knew this when he negotiated the contracts he negotiated. |

Blah blah Marleau sucks punt his ass.... see how easy that is?! I can do that shyte too!
Fact is you don't like Marleau and want him gone. Time will tell but I wouldn't be getting my hopes up. You just might be female doging and dissapointed all next season when he is still here. |

That hit is 10 games in the regular season regardless of past history. |

I dunno about that... would say more 3-5 for a first time guy with no history of it really. So hard to tell anymore the standards are just totally shot to hell so it is a crap shoot! |
