It was another incredible end to another incredible series. I mean it when I say, it could not have been scripted any better by a Hollywood writer. Like I've said before, I believe this is a team of destiny. How could it not?

Not only are the Blues a much deeper and more well rounded team than both Vegas and Colorado but as everyone knows have played the best hockey in the league for the past 4 months. I get that you are saying that about those teams because of their speed but the Blues present a whole different set of challenges so I think your take is a little optimistic. But who knows that’s why they play the games. |

Agree with the Blues being those things more than the Avs, but Vegas is a tough call...since they were immediate contenders at the time of inception.
Going to be another helluva set of games for both teams for sure though. Very much looking forward to the rematch of a few years ago. |

Steve,
Are we going to do the charity wager again this year?
If my memory is decent, I believe your Hydrocephalus Association was the beneficiary of the 2016 Sharks win.
Looking forward to a good series and hopefully some Blues revenge.
As a side note, I may try and make a game in SJ. Do you go to the games?

I'm all in sir and yes the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Association is my charity.
I live in Southern California and have never been to SAP Center. Sounds like a road trip is in order. |

After watching 14 crazy games, I'm not optimistic about anything. I simply believe in this group. |

No one gave the Blues much of a chance to get by Winnipeg in the 1st round but they found a way to win.....Legitimately! (No bogus major penalty on which to score 4 PPG's)
Then, the Dallas Stars, after beating Nashville, were supposed to run roughshod over the Blues and we found a way to win.....Legitimately! (No offside call that had absolutely no bearing on what should have been Colorado's tying goal.)
I just hope that this series is officiated fairly! I have the utmost respect for the Sharks and if we lose with the series being officiated fairly, then I'll lose with honor and tip my cap to the Sharks!

Read the NHL rules Junior. Sounds like your starting your Vegas whinning early. The Refs call the rules by what's written in the RULE BOOK |

I hope the Refs call a horrible game in the favour of the Sharks so your whining gets put to good use...
Obviously everyone wants an evenly reffed game. Avs player was offside. What is your argument? That the coach challenged it and the play was confirmed off-side? Are you suggesting the game followed the rules and it wasn't fair? lol
Do us a solid and leave your comments to the St. Louis board if you're going to come here and pre-complain that the Sharks don't deserve to be where they are |

This has been discussed at length on this website. Clearly Vegas was a bad call. Consider your team fortunate instead of being defensive about it.
(Edited to specify Vegas call, not Avs) |

Thanks GregDM!
I was mainly speaking about the Vegas call.
When the league publicly apologizes for a bad call...it's a bad call. (Still....no team should give up 4 goals on any 5 minute major penalty!)
I'm not whining at all....just pointing out the obvious!
I said in my previous comments that if we lose and lose without the assistance of a bogus call, then I'll tip my hats to the Sharks! How is that whining? Junior!!

You are absolutely pre-whining and discrediting hard earned Sharks victories, as if you team deserves to be here more than ours. I'm sure I can point to many calls made in the Blues favour in both your series and scream from the rooftops that you only won your series because of that one thing. Such a pathetic and moronic way to view things. It's best of 7 for a reason.
Also there was no public apology for the call. You don't even know what you are talking about. And you can't half go back on claiming our Colorado victory wasn't legitimate either... Especially when you are falsely claiming that the league said the Vegas one was called wrong, while the offsides call was made by the league and official rules. |

Refs certainly have a major impact on the games but usually if not always the team that deserves to win will, as will be the case in this series. |

I still don't see your argument. If the blues win, and it's a result of "a bogus call", the blues still win the series. Refs or not. Nobody here is on the Blues thread foreshadowing the series and putting a caveat with respect to officiating.
And to suggest your comment was only directed towards Vegas, yet you specifically make mention to the Avs game contradicts yourself. |

Parity in the league is bound to highlight officiating. I'm sure the better team wins the great majority of time still, but the teams are just so close these days. |

Steve Palumbo: The story keeps rewriting itself for the San Jose Sharks - Steve Palumbo
A decent played game by the sharks. They had plenty of good chances. Some bounces that didn't go their way. I'm confident in this series.
Side note though - Why do they keep starting Karlsson on the PP. Is it because they're trying to save Burns for the 35 minutes per game he's playing? Burns in our guy. Karlsson can walk. |

I'm with you. The narrative about the Sharks sucking last night seems a complete motivation/mental ploy imho. The Blues played a good third period and had a few other good stretches but they were far from dominant like Couture and DeBoer were implying or stating.
Both teams haven't been at their best imho. Of course, part of that is quality of opponent but lots of poor mental mistakes imho.
