Love Ratcliff being a shoot first mentality, I think Philly has been lacking a few guys like that the last few years. Don't think anyone can question Hextall and his teams work on drafting, We should reap the benefits of that teams work for years to come.

Hextalls drafts still incomplete imo. They need to bear more fruit for me.

It’s not a matter of if but how they’re going to acquire their 2C this summer. Starting to think they will be a major player for Duchene

I’m with Stanley.....before I anoint Hextall as this great draft king I want to see how some of these guys progress. Tons of potential. The NHL is such a young league. Every team has a roster with lots of youth or guys knocking on the door....the Flyers do have a few more bullets in the gun, but that stems from Hextalls reluctance to move any youth during his time at the helm. I guess we’ll see.

Goalies, D and Offense all have some real potential, Nothing is anything until they progress but that same can be said for building a team of superstars that dont produce (lets not forget the Eagles Dream team season) Just happy with that end of his work for sure, Tried all levels, Undrafted players and all - I dont see too many busts so far, I truly believe Rubstov will be a big part of the PK in a season or two.

I would love the addition of Duchene to this team and hope they're involved. Sure there's a walkaway point since FA contracts get out of hand, but a call definitely needs to be made come July 1.

Depends on what direction management wants to go; address the need long or short term.

i myself would rather trade for a guy with 4 years or less on their deal instead of a long term 7/8 commitment.

kadri, artem anisimov, AA (wings), RNH are some potential targets off the top of my head. Yes you will have to pay but that is ok to me. Who else trade wise may be a fit?

I have a feeling Montreal will out bid everyone for Duchene. I would be satisfied with Brock Nelson and if no luck there perhaps Hayes.
Still feel either Jake or Ghost are moved. I saw on a site that Benn could be moved ( doubt it though) from the Stars due to ownership calling him out. Jake for Benn … may cost the Flyers a little extra. If it is indeed true that he could be moved I hope Fletcher picks up the phone.

this is where i am at as every teams prospects get over hyped by their fans. Now don't get me wrong their are a lot of nice pieces in the system. Many will miss more than hit and that is ok as its the nature of the beast.

For me i like watching the guys drafted in the 5th rd and later as its fun watching these guys to see what they can do.

This is where the GM needs to start to move some of these pieces to address the nhl club.

Duchene favorites are Nashville. They need him he bought a house there last off season and they are attempting to move subban and turris to make room for him and josi extension

I'll beat a dead horse and saying if we exclude trades and figure we wont get the audience with panarin or ek etc. My targets would be hayes dzingel and stralman to improve this team.

Nashville wants to move turris but his deal is awful. RNH would be my top trade target then kadri. Not sure why Edmonton would move RNH he’s on an excellent deal

I am also not opposed to the Kopitar/giroux rumor. I would want LAK retaining some cap hit there. People think it’s crazy but people need to start viewing G as a winger now. He’s a hell of a winger but they obviously don’t carry the same value as centers

I believe it was said RNH wants out of EDM, so it's better they get something for him now than lose him for nothing. I wouldn't have an issue moving 11th overall for him but it seems Edmonton wants pieces that can come in and help now. Maybe Ghost?

Giroux still takes a ton of faceoffs and is one of the best in the league. Kopitar isn't the same player he used to be. 100 times no to that trade.

I would move ghost for sure for him. I would think the flyers would need to add a substantial piece to the deal

Face offs aside giroux is not the player he was at center or he’d still be there and we’d be talking about signing a wing. I think their values align. Doughty was like a -30 last year. I’m not putting much stock into his past season. Tire fire of a year for the Kings

I want to see SJ vs BOS, game 7 in overtime and Big Joe Thornton score and then retire. I hate BOS.

Personally a one for one trade for Philly and LA is about as much a sideways move you can make for both sides. The one and only benefit for either side is for LA by saving less than 2 million on the cap.

LA needs to dump salary, especially with the state of the team, and moving the players they would want (Kovalchuk, Brown, Phaneuf) is almost impossible without giving up future assets as well. LA would also have trouble moving Carter since he has publicly stated he would retire before playing somewhere else.

So what do fans and media do? They know this information and ask who is left...

Kopitar and Doughty. Now what rumors can be made of these.

Go through all the teams and find the ones who have the space, struggled and looking for these pieces...ahhh Philly. Flyers want another 1/2C, but LA is loosing a marketable player so they need one back...Giroux. Both players have NMC and control the whole situation. Kopitar may waive, but why would Giroux? He is getting paid, he could become a franchise great in a few years, just got married and has a kid on the way. Giroux may waive if he felt his last chance of winning was somewhere else, but that is not LA, far from it. Philly was dysfunctional last year, LA could be worse.

So what benefit is there for Giroux to go to LA (a team losing their best player as well)? The weather? Yup, that is it. That doesn't even include all the negatives such as high property and state tax for the players.

LA has some decent prospects in their system, but still a few years away from making any impact on the team, which coincides with a lot of the bad contracts expiring. Best bet for LA is to trade those players they can for picks, prospects and/or young roster players and maybe a mix of lower tiered skilled guys.

Kopitar for Giroux will never happen, mostly because Giroux would NEVER waive.

Why is everyone in love with RNH? I also definitely do not want Matt Duchene, what’s he done really except get bounced around the league. He’s 28 years old, and going to want a max deal. I’ll pass thank you.
