Brad scored as many goals as Nylander has in 1 year. Quick give him $70million.

if the cap is going to $83M and the Yotes have $73M tied up in 16 players, how do they get to compete for a skinner, panarin or kessel? they have $30M tied up in Dmen. Is goligoski the odd man out there? signed until age 36 at $5.475M/yr. they have to free up $ somewhere. with $10M in space, they have to get 5 guys signed.

Skinner may not be as one-dimensional as his reputation suggests, but he is still incredibly one-dimensional. When he's not scoring he's invisible. But you can get away with that when you score 40 goals.

I know Skinner didn't get a concussion this past season, but I'd be reluctant to give him long term contact. One hit could end his career. He has 3/4 concussions, that we know of that made him miss significant time in past seasons

If the Coyotes do want do dip into the trade market (because they may very well miss out in FA) they would likely trade Hossa’s contract to Ottawa, as long as they don’t give up a ton the trade makes sense for both sides

That only saves $5.2 mil and the Coyotes always had a self imposed cap so is ownership going to go all in now?

What kind of foolishness is this??? They have the leagues BEST GM, an incredible group of top notch young forwards, OEL on defense and a Vezina winning goalie in net. Only thing keeping them from the Cup final this year was a dash of bad luck. Geez, it's like you are here for the first time!!!

If Arizona hadn't have had the most man games lost to injury known to mankind they most likely would've won the Stanley Cup. Or at least won the Presidents trophy. The real best team wins that. The Cup is won by the luckiest team. It's all random. Also if the Coyotes had a better head coach they likely go 82-0. Tocchet is the worst head coach ever. EVER!

No way. I could've sworn he's missed significant time.

I just looked. It was his 2nd and 3rd seasons....Ooops. I stand corrected. Sometimes I guess things just stick in your mind.

I do admit when I'm wrong though

I would be honestly surprised if there is a single player in the NHL who hasn't had multiple concussions. Every player is one bad head hit away from the end of their career, contracts are insured, I wouldn't worry too much about the risk of signing skinner.

I mentioned in my last post that I was wrong about Skinner's concussion history, but I disagree with you that certain players aren't at a greater risk than others. Some players have multiple concussions and symptoms that are greater than others. Rick Nash, for example was a shell of himself the last two seasons of his career.

Multiple concussion history means that slighter/lesser hits can cause recurrences, which is most definitely taken into consideration when signing a player long term

He would've missed more if not for the lockout, but yeah, he's been healthy for a while.

47 points?? I would have thought Galchenyuk would have surpassed that total on goals alone. That's hyperbole of course. Let's face it. He's a thirty goal man. Or maybe a eighteen goal guy. You picking up what I'm laying down Tanner? He never delivers

Maybe they can overpay Schmaltz again. For his whopping 7 goals in 40 games.

you're offering a former 7th overall pick coming off a down year for the 2nd overall pick?

Some contracts are insured, but most are not. Doug Armstrong talked about it in an interview a couple years back, but I can't find the link. The premiums are too high to insure every contract, so only players with long, high dollar contracts tend to be insured, and then only for career ending type injuries, most of the time the insurance doesn't kick in until a player has missed a season's worth of consecutive games.

To be fair you guys dont have much else that would be of interest for the Yotes. Zibanejad?

Also, former draft position doesn't mean anything.
