We get quite a few up here and expect to see a lot more over the next 20 years, they are nice to see anchored, I just hope the route of travel, in our narrow channel, has been planned out well.😁 - Reubenkincade
Safest waterway in Canada, but.....and this could be a big but, can’t plan for human error...🤷♂️ |

Yes, although, considering it from a mathematical probability standpoint, the chance of a major incident/accident occurring can never get to zero, it can just get closer to zero, which means that if we double the traffic, we double not the risk, but the probability of an incident which makes it a when and a how bad, not an "if".
Don't you just love math! |

Although, if you apply the best risk assessments tools available and conduct extensive simulations (including worst case scenarios) and then institute vessel movement restrictions, and several other regulations, the mathematics will prove that the concept is sound.
Everything in life has a risk associated with it, everything.
And yes I do love math |

NERD!
Yes, most factors can be mitigated for a afresh of time, it's when you have an open ended time period that the math gets messy and starts predicting failure rates. |

Good, hopefully there's a carrier vaccine developed before it rolls out here. |

I find that infuriating. The government is to represent the people, not fool or trick them. - bloatedmosquito
I don't read to much into this article, it is the Ottawa Cotizen, hardly considered non-mainstream media, where all real news comes from. |

This is brilliant. Fox News had a headline story on their website this morning claiming “Trump legal team celebrates after Michigan judge allows probe of Dominion voting machines”.
Sounds incredible. Was going to read but promised the kids I would make pancakes. Fed them and then went back to read story. The article was removed from top billing and I found it further down the page. Seemed strange that such a huge story would be lost in the noise so quickly.
Well, I read it and found out why...
“Trump campaign attorneys celebrated the decision although the case is not related to the presidential contest.”
“The order from Judge Kevin Elsenheimer stems from a challenge made by voter William Bailey, who alleges that ballots were damaged during a recounting of ballots in a village marijuana proposal that narrowly passed.”

Another good one...
Mark Donnelly, the popular singer of 'O Canada' at Vancouver Canucks hockey games says he knew he might lose his job for standing up against what he describes as the "tyranny" of COVID-19 restrictions.
Donnelly told the crowd, many of whom weren't wearing masks or physically distancing, that he decided to sing because he questions the "draconian lockdown protocols."
"What was originally sold as a 15-day hunkering-down sprint for the common good has turned into a 10-month marathon from hell, where the finish line is constantly being moved further into the distance," he said.
10 month marathon from hell? Does he realize that wearing a mask is not living in hell? Try living in a war zone, or under a truly oppressive regime, or abject poverty. Boy, what a snowflake. |

It's funny hearing words like "tyranny" and "oppression" or "draconian police state" coming from white, morbidly obese privileged people. |

It's funnier hearing the morbidly obese, smokers and other unhealthy people say that if you choose not to get vaccinated that you should be liable for your health care costs and get super defensive when you point out that in that case they should also pay for their own health care because it's all personal decisions.
I got into an debate with a fatty who claimed it wasn't obese people's fault that they were obese, rather it was purely genetic. They got righteously triggered when I pointed out that only a small percentage of obese people actually have thyroid issues and that it's in fact poor diets and a lack of exercise that initiate the process of becoming obese. 50 percent of North Americans are overweight but it's all genetics fault.
Hypocrisy and irony at its greatest. |

Yeah, I heard the genetics excuse before and I just shake my head. I’ve packed on the pounds before and lost it by not eating. It’s so simple. |

Yes, I agree
Considering where we live, we have it better then 90 percent of people worldwide, but it's still nowhere near perfect. |

...did anyone else notice the irony of Jason Kenney waving about Pierre Elliott Trudeau's Charter of Rights and Freedoms? |
