Damn straight. Don't even joke about it. - JRR1285
I think we could get him cheaper if we took back Sam Gagner too. Isn't the worst albatross in the world (only one year left), helps them clear cap room, and probably could slot in our bottom 6 for one year. We obviously probably wouldn't resign him the following offseason.
I must have been taking a brief hiatus from hockey or something. I know I didn't follow the draft like I do now.
Not too many standouts from that draft class though. Kucherov the huge outlier. - JRR1285
from what I remember there was a lot of talk that they may take Adam Larsson #1 and obviously there must have been some merit to that debate within their franchise because of the trade they eventually made to get him

Makes sense. That was the first thing I noticed when I looked at the draft order.
Here's the deal, I am probably (definitely) unfairly poopting on RNH. I actually think he would be a nice piece to get here. But what would the cost be? What does his current/future salary look like? Does he fit? He would be the 2C now but what about Chytil?

Well I’m inclined to think if they got a legit young #2C that would be enormous in the rebuild. Depending on who’s attainable, I think that should be a priority. Nuge has had no one to play with because they’ve sucked for so long. mcd and draisitl usually play together, not Nuge. He had 68 pts will crap this year.
Only used him because Edm needs to do something fairly large I think

I'm not a fan at all of trading for RNH
he's the kind of guy on a short deal before he is a UFA that we have been trading lately, makes no sense
One disagreement between Adam Gase and Mike Maccagnan/Christopher Johnson...
Gase absolutely did not want to sign Le’Veon Bell, per sources. In fact, he made it clear that he didn’t want to spend a lot of money on any running back.

Fair enough, but I would argue his production is on another tier from the guys mentioned.
But I think it was 2 Sticks made a comparison of him and Strome, indicating RNH might have a Hall type breakout. Hall already had an 80 point season to his name before that trade. I don't think they are directly comparable.
I used to have Maurice Jones-Drew in fantasy football and he pissed me off - jimbro83
Yea I remember like 5 or 6 years ago I took Trent Richardson with like pick 9 then turned right around with MJD with pick 12. I think that was the year after Richardson's rookie year and was supposed to be MJD's last good year. Let's just say i finished last in that league

I really bungled a pick one year in football and I somehow recovered to win. Lots of activity in trades and FA.

it bothers me that RNH is not a big time offensive center and he is also a lifetime 44% faceoff man, combine that with 2 years left until he's a UFA, he's just not my cup of tea

That logic makes sense to me, no doubt he will command a hefty resign. Dare I say though, sans Hughes you could make a case that RNH would be our #1 C. I would agree it would be Zib's to lose based on last year, but RNH has been more healthy and consistent for his career.
We could have 2 70 pt possible centers on this team, it's something at least to consider.

Eeeek. I took Monte Ball at 6 once. Still scarred by that. Then traded jimmy my best players after that i think haha

Nope. Can’t consider it. #2 NHL centers are readily available all over the place

if they did acquire RNH, I wouldn't be pissed about it, especially if they get Kakko
we'd have two veteran centers down the middle with two potentially elite rookie wingers
