Hayes is coming back like Jesus
My landscaper, not the Messiah - mdw7413
Maybe, but I think what Hayes will get and what Duchene will get won't be that far apart and Duchene is a much better player. If Hayes gets around $7M and Duchene around $9M, personally I'd rather just spend the extra $2M and get a high-end offensive weapon |

I was joking, I don't think Hayes is coming back, but I will be so pissed if he goes to the Isles
I just want Panarin, and trade some extras for 2nd's and be done with it for next season. |

Out with the old, in with the new
I’m a Nam guy you know that (Vesey kinda too, never really disliked him), but if I can get both of them I’m willing to pretty much do anything within reason. Even sexually - Slimtj100

With the reports (taken with a grain of salt because Lou) that the Isles were "grinding away" to sign Nelson I highly doubt that they'd bring Hayes into the mix. Hayes is a touch better but they're really pretty similar players. I think they could sign Nelson and see what's available on the trade market for Leddy, which figures to be some pretty solid talent. |

Its not safe though.
We will have Kravtsov, Panarin, Kakko/Hughes, Fox all new in the lineup. Need to start getting a team together. Keep mixing it up and we will have buffalo or the oilers with a bunch of parts that never play as a team |

Those reports aren't always accurate, I think GM's try to (frank) with each other through the media by "leaking" stuff a lot. Logic is pointing to the Rangers being pretty bad down the middle and Duchene is the best center on the market. Unless Nashville does some real cap-gymnastics to clear salary then I could see the Rangers having interest. |

So lou thinks he will be the 2nd line center I guess? Thought that was some of the issue that was going to try to get fixed |

I don't think signing Nelson precludes them from adding another good center.
I've been beating the drum about trading Leddy to MTL for Danault for awhile. That would give the Isles two middle-six two-way centers that can chip in 50-60pts. Not going to dominate the highlight reel but I think they proved this year that you don't need to be the highest scoring team to succeed. They do need more scoring punch, but they have options.
Nelson has played plenty of LW too, so I wouldn't necessarily rule out a move there if the roster dictates it.
I'd really like to see them do something like trade for Callahan and have Tampa send Barre-Boulet with him. He's ready for an NHL job and I just don't see one in Tampa for him.
Who knows if Vegas can keep Karlsson or Gusev, I think they'd be hard-pressed to keep both. |

He fell back to earth a little this year. I don't expect him to repeat his 78pt season from last year, but he posted 56 this year and that's still pretty good (24g). He's a defensive beast, probably on par with or better than Danault. At 26 I'd have no problem locking him up for 7 years around $7M. |
