It's not even that I think he's a bad player but he's not really head/shoulders above Montour or Risto. Any one could argue from multiple angles that the 3 of them are interchangable based on what characteristics they want to see.

And Dahlin had 79 giveaways with nearly 60% o-zone starts.

Thats why the Hayes idea is perfect imo. 2C for this year, can slide into a 3C role. $6 per makes way more sense than $10m for Duchene when hopefully Mitts will be taking that role in 2 years

I'd like to have Duchene but, how many guys can you pay 8-10 mill a year. Eichel, Skinner (maybe) Duchene and 8-10 range each. Then what about Reinhart and we have to pay Dahlin as well.

Casey will be our 2C sooner than later
Overpaying anyone to be 2C for a year or 2 is dumb
Especially if we are overpaying a guy who isn’t a really good 2way center (like Duchene)

I like Duchene. I just wish we could get him for 8 mil a year. I think he would be a great fit for us. I think he can be a 60-70pt guy here. It would be great if we could get both Skinner and Duchene for similar money, Trade Okposo, draft Caufield.
