Let me get this straight,
-the Sabres scored 50 goals less than the average of the 6, 7, 8 seeds in the East
- Skinner scored 40 of them
- the postulated gap of $1m is deemed to be way too much to even consider
- 20 G Scorers are going for $4-$6m, to replace, not increase goal scoring will cost more, not less
- LW depth is Oloffson and his 8 games in NHL (I like what I saw too), Sheary who can't skate 10' without falling down...and, and ???

Well, players wait for many years to get paid their "FMV" (which IMO, the $$$'s are too much anyway) when they reach the UFA stage.
This is likely his last opportunity to squeeze "the man" for that big contract.
He can still pull a Stamkos, shop his wares and still come home...by doing so he probably gets to both a) earn few more bucks due to pressure, b) minipulate the PR by saying he gave a hometown discount and look like a hero.

and really good teams have 2 really good centers


pens built down the middle and I think grabbing duchene is perfect to build down the middle


I think casey will do just fine as a winger on the top line and replace the points skinner put up last season, not goals but points


I also feel if they really want to get strong down the middle, sign hayes for the 3rd line and flank him with e-rod and a vet not named okposo, pommer or sobotka
