Until Arizona can make enough money to be a competitive team I doubt any star would want to go there. Unless they don’t care about winning and (frank) having a player like that on your team anyways.

The moral of the story is that if you think Matthews is going to Arizona your opinion is coming out of thin air and no real facts. Facts say that Arizona is a franchise that doesn’t make a lot of money and until that changes they won’t be a player in free agency. And the NHL can’t make a player play somewhere.

Will Arizona make some extra cash? Sure. Will Matthews be marketable? Not even close to the amount he would be playing for a Toronto, NY, Montreal.

Matthews was born in LA. That would be a better marketing opportunity than Phoenix.

Tkatchuk is more than a goofy ECHL looking or whatever, player.

He’s a (frank)ing stud and he’ll punch you in the face. I expect him to have a similar career path as Marchand.

I think AM will be moved to ARI in his final year. There’s too much money to make for the NHL not to make it happen. Toronto will always sell tickets and merch.

I think AM is our best player, but I’d trade him for Tkatchuk and Chabot if Ottawa was willing.

That is without a doubt the dumbest trade proposal in the history of hockeybuzz.

Leafs cannot sign Marner to the same length as Matthews (5 Year Deal). You dont want to put yourself in a situation where you are potentially re-negociating new deals at the same time. Either sign Marner to 6-8 yer deal.

Marner does not deserve more than $10-$10.5 Mil Per year. At the end of the Day, Wingers are worth a bit less than Centremen. Tavares is at $11 Mil and Matthews is at $11.6 Mil.

Anyways, he’s probably going to the finals for 2 out of 3 years, so... he’s probably a good player to have on your team regardless of however you view his defensive game.
