Sharks seem to be the beneficiary of every crappy call the officials make this playoff year.

Boston has a lot of likable players. Too bad Marchand cancels them all out. Too bad it’s such a sh it team they are playing too. I think St Louis has the best chance against them but since your allowed to hand pass through the crease now days who the f uck knows what’s going to happen.

Forecasting for minor improvements after a full offseason of an NHL level training program I would go as far as to say that Petts has the potential to be our third most valuable defender next year behind Dumo/Letang and ahead of Maatta and Schultz

Hmmm... IDK... maybe 4th, ahead of Ollie. I don't agree with placing him ahead of Schultz.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked Petts... thought he had a pretty solid season. Consistently consistent. He plays much bigger than his frame.

Wow, I don't think Carolina is THAT bad, LOL. Rask is just ridiculously good at the perfect time. Heck, they're at least a couple clicks better than the Pens in these playoffs.

Couldn't agree more on Marchand and the rest of the Bs. I used to hate ZD, but him and Ovie have both grown on me over the years.

I agree with this and what MattStrat said below about him just being a rookie. I think the Dumoulin comparisons are pretty close. Can move the puck decent but not really a PMD. Good at covering for partner, playing odd man breaks, using his reach, etc. I see a possible #4 defenseman.

JJ-Gudbranson ain't gonna work though. Hopefully they can find another LHD that can skate and move the puck.

For next season:

Dumo - KrisTOFER
Petts - Schultzie
Ollie - Guddy
JJ (or the Finnish kid) - Roo

I can understand GMJR standing behind his D as he did to some level, as long as Sully plugs them in where they belong.

All lefties on the left and righties on the right... I believe?

I’m also ok with the idea that Schultz will be better than Petts. I like them both and hope they’re both improved. Hopefully Schultz won’t be saddled with JJ next year. If he is I guaranty he doesn’t re-sign here lol it’s not outlandish, JT said he would go to the Leafs but he had to play with Marner. Hopefully Petts makes the most of his offseason and we see the rewards

SJ is getting all the calls this year. I don't believe they can challenge the goal based on the hand-pass. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

My gut tells me JJ is here to stay and play as long as JR and Sully are employed with the Pens.

Doesn't sound like Maatta will be back, don't know if Ruhwedel, who is an UFA will either. The rest of the depth chart may change as it often does. I'm hoping they find a good depth LD that can push JJ aside.

Maatta-Gudbranson doesn't have a lot of speed. They really need to add another skating LD if they want to move Pettersiup. Unfortunately, don't think it's a priority...
