Sorry I don't think Chevy would make his trade as the Jets would want a better center and don't need a prospect like Hronek. The #1 is great however.

I think he can totally do it. Edmonton has a lack of quality wingers. Draisatl was putting up similar numbers in his rookie season with RNH and Taylor Hall. I can see him putting up those numbers with Kyle Connor and Jack Roslovic.

Rule of thumb is that the team getting the best player wins the trade but the only way this trade happens is if Edmonton is unhappy with Draisatl, that offer isn't going to do it.

My personal rule of thumb for western conference teams is that you don't do a deal that might help the Oil while McDavid is in his prime.

So on the whole both sides say 'no'.

My argument is that the two are close enough in value that it isn’t worth adding so much. Ehlers isn’t far behind

Yeah, I'd rather keep Lowry a Jet as long as possible. He and Morissey are the future leaders of the team.

Ehlers has the ability to drive the play but needs to have the right players to play with. If he was on McD line it could be scary. Draisaitl doesn't need McD to drive a line of his own as was shown when McD was out of the line up. If the Jets could ever pry Draisaitl out of Edmonton they should do it. Ehlers, Trouba, Copp for Draisaitl and a 1st could do it as it addresses the Jets need for a solid #2 center and a draft choice while the Oilers get a true top pairing d-man, a winger for McD and a good 3rd line center/winger.

If you are pittsburg and looking to shed some salary, get younger and stay competitive would you consider Letang and Bjugstad for Trouba? Do they really need Bjugstad with Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel and more down the middle?

Letang is paid 7.5, Trouba was asking for that on his last contract negotiation, and it's about 2m higher than current trouba hit. the 4.1 for Bjugstad is similar to Hayes contract. Bottom line is that if the teams like the hockey side of this they can make it happen for cap without too much trouble.
