RW - do you think McCann with Turris is also a preview after Kessel is traded to the Preds?

They did that to my grandfather when he arrived at Ellis Island from Croatia in 1923... it WAS spelled not unlike a Russian vodka... now it may as well be 'Smith'.

Isn’t Petts with team Sweden? MF doesn’t even get a mention lol. I follow the Penguins on Instagram that’s the only reason why I know. Apparently Dominik Simon is with the Czech team. But hey RW, don’t let me rain on your blog...

Which is elite production.

2 points in 3 games is still production and great production if one were to keep it up over a full season. 55 points in 82 games is top 6 material.

Also he's a piece/factor of a line that has 16 points in 3 games. That's great.

Damien Fleury has 3 goals in 4 games, including one today against Canada.

Damien Fleury is elite.

Let's hope VAN is watching Hornqvist play and say, "yea, he'd look good with Pettersson. Lets trade for him."

Worlds are stupid. It makes me laugh that NHL owners and the league hate the idea of superstars playing in the Olympics because they dont want them to get hurt, but are more than okay with sending them to play in an even less important tournament.

Random note, I've seen 3-4 hockey analytics jobs out there. Usually one of the hockey media guys retweet it so it pops on my feed. That's 3-4 more than I've ever seen posted. Interesting trend as teams look to build up their analytics teams. All of the roles were analyst roles too. I'm a younger guy in finance. wouldnt mind a career change down the road.

I don't think it's about getting hurt as much as it's getting hurt right before the playoff push. The players at the Worlds all have months to heal if they get dinged up. Putting their season on hold for a couple of weeks isn't ideal either. I also think the NHL was picking up all the expenses too.

A huge difference between the WHC and the Olympics is the timing. The Olympics are during the season and the WHC and WCH are just after and just before the season, respectively

Kasper Bjorkqvist signed an ELC. I honestly only know what I've read about him in the past and the Pens are pretty high on him. I have no real expectations.

Don Cherry’s idea is to give the refs little speakers in their helmets so they can hear the war room in Toronto on things like puck over the glass and hand pass. Nobody would ever know what they’re being told but it could definitely fix some of these lousier calls

He’s not overly skilled tbh but has good size and plays a two way game. I watched him a couple times only though.

Maybe he can be better than ZAR. I really hope they don’t re-sign him.

Quotes not working, but there's no chance of that. 5th on the team in points per 60 (behind the only 4 you'd expect) and under 1 million. Plus the coach trusts him to kill penalties and he brings some of that grit factor they want. That's not a guy you just don't qualify.
