Instead of pesky faceoffs, have jump puck a la basketball at centre ice. If your team is on a powerplay, instead of an offensive zone jump puck, it's started with a corner kick.

Then if scoring doesn't increase, give out half goals for pucks that don't fully cross the line.

But have them colour coded, so black pucks are worth 1 as per usual, but randomly a red or blue puck are added worth 2 or 3.
