as for Myers, I'd still be hesitant because I just feel he will get over paid for who he is and in todays cap world you have to do your best at avoiding that.
but I like Florida and assume they will have one of the more interesting off seasons!!
sure I cant coax you guys into a deal with Trouba and Trocheck as the center pieces?

Myers is a good player and a better community guy.
He’s a class act.
Probably doesn’t fit in with the ‘Peg anymore - salary-wise and organizationally - but yeah, super good guy.
Wish him all the best and hope he cashes out. |

No honorable mention to Rexypoo??? The guy writes non-stop about Meyers, just never great stuff.
As for me, Meyers is a competent #2 RD with good hands that ultimately should be used in a shutdown role. I like him but only on a short term deal. |

That would be great for the Jets! No way the panthers can afford that though.... After adding Bob and Breadman, Trouba will ask for 8M+ |

I think Myers is an excellent defenseman. Jets fans continue to miss the point that out of all our d-men, he's had a rotating cast of defensive partners. Myers plays in all situations, penalty kill, power play and even strength. He has the uncanny ability to get his shot consistently on net. The guy is a great community guy. Jets have made the playoffs in all his years he's been with the club. The only time this team missed the playoffs in the last four years was when he was nursing his critically ill newborn.
He is a top four d-man! I am hoping the Jets re-sign him long term. |

I'm still not convinced Bob/Breadman are a done deal and signing with the Panthers.
Fans are reading into everything so heavily. I'm not saying it's not possible, but I'll wait for something official, you know?

But he played a lot of extra minutes this season with Byfuglien hurt - which is probably why some of his defensive liabilities were exposed.

I think you also have to make adjustments about his d-pairing partners. Byfuglien and Trouba have been consistently been with Morrissey and Chariot. Myers has had Morrow, Kulikov, Chariot, etc... Interestingly Myers has better numbers with Morrissey than Trouba.
If he's paired with Pysyk in Florida, I can see him becoming a 55 Corsi, and a 40 point player. If he does not sign in Winnipeg, its going to be a massive loss for the franchise. |

It's true that Myer's has kind of been the guy who gets the rotating partner. However, he and Kulikov were fairly decent together.
The way Beaulieu played, and the potential emergence of Poolman next season will ease the pain of losing Myers or Trouba. As a Jet fan, I hope it's only one of them that goes. |

I def thought he was a third pairing only because of talent on Winnipeg's blue line.
