Doughty already said he wanted to stay and if a rebuild happens he wanted to be part of it. I do agree the Kings won't be good for awhile until they can dump Brown, Quick, Kovy, Kopitar, Dion and Carter so they can get younger and more skilled, but either way, Doughty isn't going anywhere especially since the Kings need D still and leader and if they end up drafting a D-man with their #5 pick then Doughty will mentor him.

Doughty already said he wanted to stay and if a rebuild happens he wanted to be part of it. doughty has a full nmc, is signed until his late 30's and a has a $10M cash bonus coming to him on July 1.
the return will be likely be 4-5 good pieces, but not great pieces.
just for fun, it would be interesting (and complicated/unlikely) if the leafs could include marleau in the deal. |

I don't see how we would make it work.. It would be great if there was no salary cap..
We would have to shed like $10-11M and the Kings are also not flush with cap space.
Even just to make the $$ work, it would have to be something like Doughty for Kadri, Brown and Zaitsev.
