At least here in the corporate world, people love taking the day off or half days before a three day weekend. I just don't like burning days like that when I have nothing planned, or when I know everything will be super busy. July 4th is on a Thursday this year, 10/10 I'll be one of the very few working July 3rd or 5th. - 2sticks1puck
Normally wouldn't either, but I've been working two jobs for the last few months, so I needed a break.
Probably taking July 5 off. I like the continuity of days off. |

I probably should be glad I was a kid when that game happened. I was still young enough to have an optimism that "hey maybe we came back" and managed to turn it back on. If something like that happened today, I'd probably be like your dad and turn it off because I would know better about this franchise. Although I guess my phone's notifications would save me when I saw that we were scoring goals. - 2sticks1puck
I was 24. No way I could ever turn off a playoff game. |

I might have to pick up a second job, I'm kind of dreading it myself. I hear you on the continuity, but I dunno I love taking the days off when no one else is. I know it'll be easier for me to get approved and it's not as busy places. When I take a random week off in October sometimes, I feel like a darn king having all the bars and stuff basically to myself. Besides, days before/after holidays nothing literally happens. It's so easy. I'd say it's about 50% full here today, no one really cares what's going on. |

A bit off topic, but have you guys ever gone to the Habitat restore stores? I've seen TVs that are almost that old sitting on sale for 10 bucks. I just keep thinking, "who's going to buy that"? "How long will they leave it out until they give up and toss it?" |

Ed Sheeran is the new Dave Matthews in that he has fans for no apparent reason. Change my mind - 2sticks1puck
I don't know who that is. My wife went through a DMB phase. I did like Gravedigger though.
Since I only listen to college radio, I never heard DM. One day she's watching a video and I'm struck by how much he looks like a guy I work with, so the next day I ask him if he's ever heard of DM. He says,"Dude, I graduated college 2 years ago, been hearing about it for years. What rock do you live under?" |

The saving grace is that I know this job will end for a bit since I'm just helping a buddy out on random projects. Being a cold weather guy, I hate taking vacation in the summer, so usually save it for October or November.
Every few months my buddy and I will take off a Weds or Thurs to hit the range, so nice to be able to spread out and enjoy ourselves. |

My neighbor had one of those real old ones that was like built into a cabinet. Had that awful fake wood veneer. He asked me to help him get rid of it, had to be a good 200 lbs. |

One of the funniest things you posted was about me having to carry my axe everywhere so people don't think I'm a hipster. |

We had one of those when I was a kid. The radio didn't work, but there was a turntable.
I have often wished my parents still had it. I would love to get one, restore it and put in a modern unit and speakers. That would be the tits. |

The irony of it, is they try so hard to be different and they all look like clones - mdw7413
I don't know why they bother me, they stay in their cliques and don't start trouble. So why do I find myself muttering "(frank)ing Hipster"under my breath when one walks by? |

Hipster!
Seriously, I've seen those redone and they are pretty nice except for weighing a ton. Good thing is, you can pretty much get one for free and put your own components in it. |
