"Approximately 95% of Hughes' non-denied entries (carry-ins, pass-ins, or dump-ins) are controlled. That's not just how he plays against his peers, either. In the WHC games I've tracked (small sample, I know), he has only dumped the puck in once while recording 12 carry-ins and three pass-ins. That's ~1% below his average including all competitions.
Compare that to Kakko who, through nine games, has almost as many dump-ins (21) as carry-ins and pass-ins (26). His non-denied controlled entry percentage sits at 55% across all competitions, and ~53% through three tracked games at the Worlds".
This stuff is the reason he will go 1st overall...meanwhile Kakko will be the better choice. |

Listening to Devils Daily and they brought up possible wingers to trade for and the name Alex Tuch came up. After looking at his stats, age, and the Knights cap situation I think he's the next Palmieri. He's got size, speed, and plays RW. He can be the perfect running-mate for Hughes. A 2nd line of Bratt-Hughes-Tuch would be awesome. I just wonder what the Devils would have to give up to get him.
Maybe the forward lines might look like.....
Hall-Hischier-Palmieri
Bratt-Hughes-Tuch
Boqvist-Zajac-Coleman
Agostino-Rooney-Bastian
Yeah. No Zacha, Wood, McLeod, and Anderson on the list. If Devils get Tuch someone has to get traded. To a lesser extent, Bratt and Bastian could also be traded for Tuch, but I think Bratt is part of the core. IF Bratt gets traded then it's Zacha on the LW. |

I mean, Kakko literally dominating the tournament offensively, but dump-in's are the most important "stat" |

Todd Cordell: On Jack Hughes' neutral zone play and Joonas Donskoi - Todd.Cordell
A 3rd line of Coleman Zajac Donskoi would be a great line. Only problem is he would easily be our #2 RW. Very weak on that side. His only competition for #2RW would be Noesen, Stafford, and Gabriel which I consider fringe level NHL'ers.
We certainly could use a guy like Donskoi!!! |

He's been pretty quietly lately. What is it 4 games in a row without a point? I mean I'd love to have him or Hughes but he faded pretty quickly. |

Certainly could be. But I also wonder how these guys will transition to the NHL. Nolan Patrick was clearly more of a physical force then Nico Hischier pre draft. He is still a lot stronger; but he doesn't seem to be as successful. I wonder if Kakko and Hughes are a lot like that. Except Hughes has been the clear favorite for a while and has put up much better numbers until this tournament. Granted they've been playing in different leagues against different competition but still.... |

Kaako will be much better than Patrick I think but I go cross eyed every time someone says bUt BuT bUt Kaako HaS SiZe. Like that matters when you have guys like Gaudreau, Debrincat and Kane in the league. |

It would be nuts for the Devils to not take Hughes
And the Ranger fans that are worried that the Devils will take Kakko while saying that Hughes is too small, etc...they’re friggin nuts. In my opinion, I’m happy to be a rangers fan in this spot because it’s a win win
Hughes will and deserves to go #1 |

The answer is very much yes with that one. I've been told advanced stats aren't real. Like big foot and the loch ness monster. |

I guess they are embarrassed to say they don't understand what the stat means and just say advance stats are meaningless. I don't know. |

KAkko has a good 3 games in the tournament..after that he has 1 goal 1 assist with getting top line minutes in 3 games.
You can trade for scoring wingers.
To line centers with vision and speed you cannot...

All good points. In my opinion Kakko is more of the "already turning into a man" category, while these guys are all still young boys. It actually reminds me a bit of that Dallas Stars kid..Nichushkin (Sp?)....who has not panned out well at all. To me, Kakko is the whole package...that's who I'd take.
Also, I think Vancouver should do pretty much whatever it takes to get this second Hughes brother. It would be great for the team and great for the league.
