Thank you to the entire @SanJoseSharks organization, fans, and especially teammates. It was a great run that ended too early. But lots of great memories where created. The entire Bay Area has been nothing but classy and respectful to me and my family. Thank you.

I would like to know who the three other defenders Canucks have in 4 years that would be ahead of him. We know Hughes but then who?

I think he will follow normal progression. Start at the 5/6 for a year or two then promoted to the second pairing and eventually finish his 15 year career on the top pair.

That's 4 years away. Who's going to score for Van in 4 years because we need more scoring also. If they draft Broberg it's because they feel he is BPA there and are looking to trade from a position of strength later. You aren't going to carry 5 LHD defenders on a team, no matter how good they are. So really you could just not draft Broberg and get someone you may get down the road anyways.

No offence but I don't know if all of Canucks land could handle you if Broberg doesn't pan out.

I think Juolevi (if not traded ) will play some time on the Canucks this year .

As far as eating crow it is only me and Nucker who think he still has issues . He is the only player drafted in the top 15 that year to never play a single NHL game but sure we will sit down and have a crow salad

Ive seen as much as ten posters refer to him as a bust. Not sure how you only see yourself and nucker when it’s a pretty popular opinion

I can't control the way people think and I think if people think this is in fact an argument then I suggest they need to buy a new pillow to bite on.

I want a Dman over a forward. Will I care if they take a forward or will I be upset? Very little

Do I care if it is Broberg? Not as much as people think. I think he is the best option at 10 but would gladly accept most choices.

Do I think Canucks are targeting Broberg? Absolutely.

You must have missed that beautiful wrist shot just under the bar from the blue line then.

It was pretty

They will pick at #10 for upside and character, none of us know the character part.

A bit of a different subject on OJ.

I remember last year I texted in (in the summer) to the Reach Deep SN650 show about OJ. It was one of their topics about his potential. I sent in a text and stated I think Sautner and Briesbois might get a shot on the Canucks before OJ plays for the Canucks.

They were both very polite but told me I could not have been more wrong and there is no way they would play before OJ.

It is funny how things turn out you just never know. I do think OJ will play eventually I just think it was a bad pick for 5 th OA , but he will play this year if not traded at some point.

Had he not been injured he would have received an opportunity before them. Thats not even a question. It was his bad luck that proved you correct.

I do not think he is a bust. The kid is 20, I think he will get plenty of opportunity this season to sink or swim. IMO, this is the year that defines him as a pick....

I am going to mentor and help Dylan anhorn of the spruce kings, he is heading to union college next year. I think he has potential and gets kind of overlooked with that all star defense they had. He is 20 but I told him look at stecher, he has grown physically this year and could be a late bloomer.

I agree with part of this. I don't think he is a bust. I think there was better picks at 5 but it doesn't matter now. I think he will eventually be okay. I am not in a hurry.

Canucks did have the chance to bring him up in November 2018 when Edler was injured but decided he was not ready and chose Pouliot over him

Two more days of hockey here at the World Championship, and Troy Stecher is the only Canucks player to survive long enough to play for a medal.

My wrapup of Thursday's quarterfinal day, in the new blog:
