What I'm hearing: Kessel at the moment is not leaning towards waiving his NTC to go to Minnesota but that doesn't mean it ultimately couldn't happen eventually. However, there are a few clubs on his 8-team YES list that have contacted Pittsburgh so we'll see where that goes...
Nice to have Modano in the fold. Kessel isn't a player you trade for when youre at least 3 years from being a true contender. The better trade would be Zucker and Spurgeon and a pick to Toronto for Nylander and Kadri. Toronto gets rid of two headaches, albeit talented headaches, and get their coveted right shot D and a guy in Zucker who can fill in well for Nylander and who is a better two way player.
Yeah, the Dumba for Nylander thing is not going to happen. Spurgeon is worth more than Nylander at this point.
And thinking on Kessel, I had heard that he has been discussing coming to the Wild with Suter, who he is friends with. And now it is coming out that he is going to nix the trade to the Wild. This starts to make me think Suter is feeding him info that it makes it sound bad to play in Minnesota. Is this possible proof that Suter is the problem child in the locker room? I know that this has been mentioned before, is this just another sign that he is?
