this is a bad take

who cares about the dollar amount any time in first 3 seasons

he had a career year and thrived under Barry Trotz, and Trotz isn't going anywhere

should the Islanders have let another UFA center walk for nothing?

Clueless dude, not even worth commenting

I just think we have enough inflated contracts... if it was dollars in vs dollars out. Something like Russell & Brodziak or Sekera was going the other way I would be open to it. I think the fact that Minnesota would be possibly getting Kessel that would take us out if we were ever in.

Rumour still floating around that Calgary is still in on Zucker and the ask is Bennett and Frolik

Update to this... Kessel apparently is hesitant to waive his no trade to go to Minnesota as they are not one of the teams on his list of 8.

Puljujarvi and one of Russell or Sekera would probably be a pretty fair offer. The good news here is that Minny appears willing to take on cap back for Zucker in all of these trade scenarios.

If I was Minny I would rank those offers:
1. Pulju/Sekera
2. Bennett/Frolik
3. Pulju/Russell

Good goddam, Samorukov is brilliant at defending off the rush. He steps up at the line, pinches opposition off both along the boards and knocks them off in mid-ice, has excellent positioning, an active AND effective stick- pretty much the anti-Russell. I'm excited to see how that translates over a couple pro seasons!

OK oilers. Let’s get your poop together this year. As a life long flames fan I’m sick of the relentless wasteland that has been the oilers. Good people paying good money do not deserve what has been offered up the last decade. Of course when they play Calgary I’m against you. But his year I will be acitlvey cheering for you!

This post reminds me of the Dave Chappelle skit about a black KKK member.

Really? That's curious. He's right in that perfect realm of physicality for me right now. He had a Kronwall-like element through the postseason games that I saw. Kinda has the physicality of an Adam Larsson; physical during play but non-confrontational after the whistle.

I’ll rephrase.....I would like to see more of it over the next couple of seasons.....make it a consistent part of his game.....it isnt always there

Hmm. Haven't noted that inconsistency in physicality, but I also got most of viewing in the playoffs where intensity is ramped up. Bias of a sample size like that can skew things.

Gotta put Mozza on a line with McJesus and give it a real shot to see what happens....

He struggled a bit during the first half of the season but was able to really get it going in time for the world juniors and the second half of the season.....I’m 90% sure that he will be everything we want him to be but I also wouldn’t be surprised if there was an adjustment period going from junior hockey to pro hockey....I’m really looking forward to seeing how he transitions next season

Putting players into positions they aren’t ready for is a big part of why we are where we are today.....he should start as a 3rd line player and see how he adjusts to the NHL level of play plus if I’m not mistaken the NHL rinks are smaller so that’s another adjustment that needs to be made

90% certain is mighty certain I guess it depends on what we want him to be.

I guess I shouldn’t speak for everyone seeing as some are allover the place with him I just hope he can be an effective top 4 defender....if by the grace of hockey gods he turns into a top pairing guy then all the better but the safest bet would be top 4

Russo on MN radio says Jason Zucker has been shopped to CGY for Frolik/Bennett, PIT for Kessel, ARZ for Dvorak (turned down) - ARZ countered with Fischer, VGK for Marchessault, VAN for Boeser (VAN laughed and hung up).

Minny appears to be looking to cash in on this deal
