While true, I don’t think he wins without the rust belt vote and the promises of bringing manufacturing/coal jobs back. That was absolutely crucial for him.

And I know a ton of smart people that are huge AOC fans too. People have a way of honing in on a particular policy they like and hand waving all the rest with “eh he/she doesn’t actually mean that so it doesn’t matter.” It’s how Jeremy Corbin’s anti-semitism gets over looked by lefty Jewish friends.

Yeah maybe here and there... But there's been a steady stream of it from him.

I have a pretty firm grasp on why he was elected and wouldn't be surpsied at all if he does a 2nd term. I have friends who voted for him. I look at him objectively. I dont have any emotion attached to the man.

Helps explain why he had such a tough year. I was just talking to a current player and his skating coach this past week about when the player broke his hand. He said it was incredibly difficult to train because they made him skate without a stick which effects your balance and he wasn’t doing any tight turns and stuff because of the risk of falling. Rask could have 3rd line level production with the right teammates

Going back a blog or two to what would it take to get JJ off the team. I recall some saying Geno is the only player good enough to package up with JJ. I think we can all agree now that’s not the case

I think most of us agreed that Rask would be an improvement over JJ (at the very least easier to shelter as a bottom 6 forward). Tojo showed us Malkin away from JJ and Phil and how much better he was. If we pull this trade off and somehow also swap first rounders or something with MN I would favor the initial outlook of the trade
