Kessel to minny doesn’t make sense. They need to get a rebuild going. Adding an ice 30 player to that roster is not what they need to do.

Ghost ain’t going to the Leafs. Leafs have the similar player in Riley. Riley still the more complete player at this stage, plus Ghost contract is very team friendly

Two years ago Ghost had his most productive year playing the right side with Provorov....now I am not advocating a Flyers/Leafs trade, but lets not make it sound like the Leafs have no use for him.

Agreed. On paper it may seem like the Leafs and Flyers would be good partners, but neither team has what the other team wants to give up. Edmonton makes more sense for the Flyers.

Once again, I was only referring to Marner as a hypothetical trading piece for Ghost.

I'm not saying it would ever happen.

I'd rather get RNH for Ghost then get Kapanen or overpay for Will Ny the Holdout Guy.

Maybe the Islanders can work on a deal with the Leafs and save the Flyers from making a bad deal.

2) Ghost has out produced gardiner 3 out of 4 years since Ghost came into the NHL
3) Ghost is 2 years younger
4) Ghost is signed for 5 years at 4.5 mill. How much is Gardiner going to get? I can tell you he is likely going to get overpaid. Most players are nowadays
5) Flyer fans arent trading him because he is bad, he under-performed last season but the flyers are rich in D prospects. You dont trade your best D and you cant trade your worst D and expect to get something good back. Ghost is an elite offensive Dman that has been average in his own zone. We arent going to trade him for nothing, nor do we want to get rid of him. It is just the nature of the business, you gotta give to get and the Flyers need more speed and skill on forward

1) Some fans are stupid and want to trade him because he had a bad season

2) Others like me want to trade him because the Flyers D is jammed up. Flyers have Gudas, Provorov, Hagg, Morin, Myers, Sanheim, Ghost, Freidman. Defense is a surplus. Teams deal their Surplus to improve their team

Thats 8 Dmen for 6 slots. Fans wanted to get Myers and Morin in all season but we had to wait until when the Flyers were pretty much out of the playoff picture. It makes the most sense to trade one of the more established guys for a piece to improve the team up front.
