When you have such a personal animosity towards the Blues you said we don't actually know if it was a hand pass or not, there is no reason to take your observations on their games as having any value whatsoever. |

We can hope, but I doubt Turris' value is any higher than it was a few weeks ago. It's not like all the best players from the NHL and around the world take part in that tournament. The fact that Turris was on Team Canada at all tells you how watered down it is. I'm not surprised Kessel would turn down going to Minny at this point. They still have a lot of retooling to do, and at Phil's age I'm sure he wants to go somewhere where he has a clearer road to the playoff's. It's a good sign for Minny fans though that Fenton is out there trying, and seems to be swinging for the fences. Not sure Kessel is the best fit up there anyway. He brings a lot of offensive skill, but he doesn't help with one of Minny's key issues, that being a highly paid core that feels like it's aging rapidly. |

The embarrassing reffing has dragged through all of Boston series, and many of the others.
It's curious that the refs don't seem to see the Boston initiating anything Krug's obvious charge) . . . but always see the opposing team's retaliation. And they swallow the whistles until Boston trails in either the game, or the series, then Boston pretty much has immunity to mug & maim.
Yes, their forecheck is smothering, and they jump on turnovers, and the PP is strong. But it's the other garbage they pull that makes me want to vomit, while the NHL office & DoPS enable it . . . head locks by Chara in the corners; behind the back punches by Marchand; head shots called as "minor" penalties.
Contrary to what Buttman says, these are not the best refs/linesmen in the world.

People complain about officiating more than actually commenting on the play. Fact.
I'm sick of it too Paul. Social media is a cesspool, but the degree of whining has escalated lately. It used to be fun to comment on games, interact with other fans, but no more. It's all a conspiracy against your team...the NHL wants you to lose...the refs have been paid off...etc, etc.
This isn't just Blues or Bruins fans, it's every team. It's ridiculous. The media encourages this by focusing entirely on those missed calls. Let's watch a non call in super duper slo mo about 75 times but ignore a solid hockey play.
In that respect, I think it is becoming unwatchable. Certainly unlistenable. |

It's lazy, much too easy fodder for the talking heads who cover these sports all day and need filler to yap on about. Officiating is a hot topic right now... Just look at the posts that pop up on this site alone, bringing up controversial plays, and how many comments they get. It's major click bait, and the opinions on both sides are extremely aggressive. It's both sad and amusing at the same time.

Apparently Pittsburgh is very openly targeting P.K. I do wonder, if Kessel isn't involved, which it kind of sounds like he isn't, what could the Preds get from Pittsburgh that would make the deal worth it? Unless Poile has convinced himself Duchene is coming, a deal with Pitt doesn't make a lot of sense without someone of Phil's caliber involved. (50/50 right now whether I'd even want the guy) Just some food for thought. |

I agree, this would make no sense. Personally, I don't want Phil. I'd prefer getting guys on the front end of the career, not the back end. His work ethic has been an issue in the past too. If he's not 100% invested, you get about 40% effort. That's not what we need. If we're giving up PK, the return has to be better. |

I think Kessel's best days are behind him. While a healthy PK can be very productive. I don't like that potential trade. If the pens would consider Malkin for PK and some additional help, that would be something to consider
