I hope the Canes don't resign Ferland. They have better options for that role in house. I would like to see what Gauthier can do at the NHL level.

Tanner, Baby, I wanna support you. But you make it so hard. Kevin Hayes is good, is a center than can play in all 3 situation and has good advanced metrics. Why do you hate yourself?

Of course he's good, but how good a player is he relative to the cap hit he's about to cost? That's the question. I guess if someone gives him extra term in order to make the cap hit reasonable, it might end up being a good move.

But given how these things play out, and given that he's the same age and significantly better than Brock Nelson, i just don't think he's going to come in at a price that makes any sense.

He's certainly getting closer. He might need one more year in Charlotte, but he's been real good and just gotten better all year.

So Frenchie says avoid Eberle. A couple of days ago Tanner says the Yotes should sign him.
I wonder which of these 2 guys actually gets it with Eberle?

Hey Tanner,

So 72.89 points over 82 games played, "is not a difference maker"?!?! Last time I checked, creating nearly 1 goal per game is "making a difference" on the game. Hayes should be avoided bc by all reports he is a clown/jackass of a human being. That being said, he is a very effective offensive player.

are you inferring that any time a player gets a point, they've created that goal?

I disagree with Mr. Tanner 99% of the time. However, this isn’t one of them! Due to the lack of centers available, he arguably the best available in FA. That means an overpayment! When you consider JT’s points, plus Hayes and his agent may want a NMC, and you could have an immovable anchor in 2-3 years!

Sorry, I'm with Tanner on this one. Hayes is not worth the salary that free agency will offer. Hoping the Flyers sign him for $7M x 5

The Devs RW goes in this order: Palmieri, Noesen, Rooney, Stafford.........That is pretty pathetic. Palms is a solid goal scorer, and a top 6 for sure, but it sure drops off on the depth charts.

While I agree that Simmonds and Eb's would be risky contracts for most teams to avoid, the Devs could easily fit one of them into the lineup should no other RW's be added. The only issue would be the term. Can easily afford to pay 6M for one of these guys, but lets keep it 2 years or less. Ideally, offer sheet Kapanen, and sign Donskoi

Curse you!

IF the Flyers sign him, it won’t be anywhere near 7x5. If Felch signs him for that contract, his tenure will be a lot shorter than Hexy’s!

just build internally. draft a few bigger players that have some skill. we don't need any has-been's like Simmonds.
