Hope Jets are aggressive but don’t want Nolan Patrick if Philly is the partner.
I like NYR and I like a big deal:
Trouba
Ehlers
For
Zibinejad
Krastov
Howden
Jets 1st rd pick back
2019 2nd rd (TB)

That would overpayment I know by NYR but they are in a tough market for full on rebuild. Jets would have to add.
LA intrigues with the 5th overall pick and a couple of pieces (Kempke, Vilardi) |

Not trading Ehlers. You aren’t getting a player of that caliber at 6mil anymore |

Ehlers caliber is zero goals in 21 games that matter. Complete Casper the ghost in the playoffs.
One more playoff like he’s had and he won’t be tradeable |

I, too, enjoy judging players entirely on a 21 game sample size. Especially when they’re continuing to shoot, and create scoring chances at almost exactly the same rate as they do during the entirety of their career. I’m sure a 0 for shooting percentage is totally sustainable!
For real, though. Ehlers is shooting twice per game in the playoffs, and about 2.5 per game in the regular season. He was actually firing away more against St. Louis than usual.
It’s all luck and linemates. He had linemates the first go round. This time he had neither, and he still generated more than anyone else playing on a broken leg.
You want to talk about ghosting? Look at Wheeler and Scheifele in those last 2 games. |

Ah Rexypoo.
First you start off by complaining about someone using a 21 game sample size to define a players performance. Then you end the post by complaining about the performance of 2 players in a 2 game sample size.

Gustafson is a nice player, I see him as an eventual Copp or Lowry replacement if one or both of those guys eventually reach UFA status and bigger pay day elsewhere. I hope his ceiling is higher but that's where I see him. |

NYR trade can’t include Zib or Kravtsov.
Any interest in this?
Trouba
For
-Howden or Andersson (3rd line center)
-Deangelo or Pionk (RHD to replace Trouba)
-20 OA
*keep in mind, I’m not the biggest Trouba guy so forgive me if it’s not enough but I think this helps the peg by filling holes, with cheaper players and your pick back |

a lot of rumors around the Rangers and Trouba but I'll throw out a dark horse. Boston, If Philly can not sign Hayes I can absolutely see him going home to Boston. If this happens they might want to trade 33 year old Krejci, who's owed 7.2 for 2 more years ( and could give Jack two more years to develop into our future 2nd line Center or find another ) maybe Krejci and Carlo coming our way? |

I've also suspected something like this but use Hajek and Deangelo as the D option, absolutely NOT Pionk, no thank you to Pionk

Hajek is a tough give up, not sure lol he looked really good in the short time he played this year. BUT I could see him being part of a deal
Pionk isn’t great, I get it.
These two teams definitely matchup tho |

Forget about Nolan Patrick.
He is injury prone and Papa Steve does not want him to play in Winnipeg. |

Hot take,
In two years everyone will hate the wheeler deal more than littles |

If the Jets trade Troube to Philly I hope they can get Patrick with a 1st round pick to protect the Jets in case Patrick never develops past a 3rd line center. The Jets shouldn't trade Trouba who is a hard to get, physical, 50 point a season, RH shot d-man who is just coming into his prime, for player(s) that are not a decent return. |

I think with philly’s trade yesterday I’m not so sure they are still in on Trouba.
My guess is so far the best offer is from the rangers but there deal doesn’t include an impact player to help right now, it’s more a prospect and picks type offer |

Yeah, that went a bit iffy at the end. The attempt was to show the difference between luck and effort. Ehlers being unlucky, Scheifele and Wheeler being uninterested.
It went the opposite of well. |

I already do. Little’s is survivable (if need be), Seattle-able, and tradeable even 3 years into decline.
Wheeler is one drop off away from none of those things. |

I do as well, my point is more people will see it our way in two years |
