New CBA has got to have some sort of cap on how much a player can earn coming off of their ELC if they salary cap is only going to slowly inch up each year. Either that or they need to make contract non-guaranteed against the cap so guys can be released without it counting against the teams cap. Otherwise this league is gonna be screwed in a few years when middle six guys are making almost 5-6M a year and the cap is still only at 85.5M |

The Canes don't want Mac as a #1 goalie. They will take him as a #2. They are looking at Ned as a #2 next year. The key is Mrazek as a #1 and it doesn't look like they can get him signed. Mac probably doesn't want to sign as a #2 with Ned competing for the spot in training camp. |
