31. Buffalo Sabres--LW, Jakob Pelletier

Odds are that the Sabres will use this pick in a trade for immediate help but if they don't, they have plenty of options and a real good skater like Pelletier who's both smart and competitive fits in rather nicely for what they want. It doesn't hurt that he had a solid season in the Q with 89 points (39+50) in 65 games for Moncton either. The Sabres need scoring and they'll either add some now by trading this pick for immediate help or they'll draft someone here who'll need a couple years of development and Pelletier isn't a bad choice for the latter.

Sam Reinhart. The Tkachuks. Max Domi. The Folignos. Zach Parise. Paul Stastny. Plenty more unsuccessful bloodlines.

Just saying, wouldn't be the card I'd play when looking at a 1st round pick.

Sheds our cap, moves unwanted players and brings in talent. Draft Byram and make the trade. I'm looking at him with the same mindset as Risto.

Let Krueger and Botts mold the giant headed guy. You can't teach that kind of head size, there's a lot of brain in there.

Edmonton traded Yakupov for Zachary Pochiro and a 3rd. Who knows what they would want for Puljujarvi?

they do not intend to "give away" someone who's not really all that good...they can have either brandon hickey or jack Dougherty and one of our 6th rounders this year
