At $5.9 M, it's a good signing. The term is a bit long, but I am sure that's what it took to get the deal done. So good on him and the team.

Seems like that is $1.5M to $2M under market value. Vegas did well with this one. .

The Knights caught a ridiculous break getting Karlsson to agree to this contract. I don't see how you can think the term is a bit long. He's a solid number one centre, and he's 26. There's no reason not to think that he won't be a productive number one centre for the next 8 seasons. By the end of the deal, if he's still putting up 20 goal 50 point seasons, he'll be a bargain the way the contracts go up every year.

The only way the contract is too long is if the NHLPA forgets to show up for the next collective bargaining meetings and the owners get to cut the cap in half.

This, x 1000.

His agent sucks OR he really likes it in Vegas.

Jesuse guys no the term isnt long, yes this is a great contract! this just shows how out of touch of reality philly is... the Hayes contract is a joke & it had all the dummies saying all these bums were gonna get wild raises but obviously Karlsson knew his real value... scoring 40 one time doesnt make u a superstar & his 25/55 is definetly manageable & repeatable... just really happy to see common sense prevail here as it is clear as day the Hayes contract was not signed with proper comparisons nor is it at all going to work out for them

Swedes like to win. Was probably worth $1m/year for him to keep the Knights competitive. Great deal for VGK.

Great move by Vegas and give William credit here for taking a lot less (probably could of got over 7mil on the open market) for staying in a place he loves and has a chance to win now and the near future.

He literally took one for the team. Good on him, helluva deal for Vegas!

Tuch is on an even better deal - amazing to lock them both up that long for below market money.
