I’d be pissed if they don’t keep him. To me I’d be the biggest blow so far this offseason.

For the life of me I don’t get this team’s obsession with Engelland. The guy is just not a top 6 dmen. I don’t care how amazing of a leader he is.

Engelland is the soul of the VGK. He's beloved in the community and rightfully so. His best playing days are gone, but to me his leadership intangibles will be priceless in the upcoming season. If McPhee and Turk didn't think he had something to offer then Engelland would be gone. If Vegas can win a Cup next year, you can be sure that Engelland will be the first guy to raise it. And fans in Vegas would be going nuts. I think that's why they keep him for another year.

He can be loved and be leader from the press box or in some sort of coaching position. On the ice he hurts the team. It’s time to move on, thanks for everything but there’s better options. Unfortunately Gallant is a fan of his style so we’ll have to deal with his sub par play for another year and hopefully that’s the last of that. Right now that defense is looking like a massive weakness.
