Depth signings were fine, no issue there.

my issue is they now have 2 million less to sign their 3 free agents.

Unless at least part of Backes' contract is gone, i don't see how its going to happen

You're allowed to exceed the upper limit of the cap in the off-season. I believe they can exceed up to $89 million. If needed, they will do this and then free up some cap space with a trade. They have from July 1 to the end of training camp to become cap compliant.

There are also reports on the Sports Hub this morning Backes may need to have a major surgery which could qualify him for LTIR.

Yes. That's a lobotomy I believe. I prefer the liquid version of that. Just drink 3-5 long island ice teas a day.
