Avs got fleeced? Lol they needed depth at center and traded for a guy who scored 30 plus goals in two of the last three seasons and is signed to a super friendly deal, Barrie is a one year rental for the leafs, Avs have one of the deepest blue lines in the league with Makar Girard and now Byram joining, it was a win win trade for both teams as both teams filled necessary holes

Good God Paul. Interesting piece, but you know all this is going to do is get the fans of the teams you're criticizing riled up. Should be entertaining... Especially if any Montreal fans get a peek at this.

Ah, kind of lame dude. You might want to take a step back and let the real Trolls do what they do.

Flamethrower blog for sure, Paul. The thing about UFA day and Trade Deadline day is you really won't know until the end of the season if any deal was good or bad.

Edit: I'm referring to major signings/trades.

Nice one, Paul. The only thing you missed was that Carolina didn't take the full 7 days to match, they did about an hour ago.

This should set the trolls on fire. I'm pulling up a chair, opening a cold one...should be good.

The central division has the potential to be ridiculous next season. I believe Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, and Colorado all greatly improved. Winnipeg may have gotten slightly worse, but should still be a really good team. Should be a great battle, and a lot of fun to watch. Five teams coming out of the central

Yup, and the preds gave me a banner! Just giving y'all some of the business, as a Blues fan living in Nashville for the past decade it's been great watching the Preds grow, if only they would have realized that hockey fans living in nashville are not idiots and know "western conference regular season champions" is not a real thing.. hopefully it just disappears one day otherwise you will hear about this forever! Good luck next year, Central will be a dog fight.

I personally think it's silly, but everyone seems to single us out for it and never mention the other teams. Whatever fits your narrative, I guess...

I've heard it said it's because the Preds held a banner raising ceremony, and some of the trolls are making fun of the ceremony more so than the banner's themselves... Like none of those other teams ever held a ceremony of their own for anything other than a cup win. Can't know that for sure of course, doubt Detroit ever did, but I really don't care either way. It's just become a lazy uncreative way for certain trolls to take a shot at a team they don't like. I personally find it kind of amusing, like what other fans think of our banners is supposed to bother us. I really doesn't.

They do it because they have nothing else to troll us for. The Troll Cupboard is bare so they grasp at straws. Pretty humorous and somewhat lame but also not unexpected.

I love it when Paul stirs the pot.

I think it is awesome ! This isn’t for anything other than marketing. It tells Tennessean’s to spend their hard earned money on the Preds not the Titans. Businesses to support a winning team etc..And reminds opposing UFA players to come to TN. for a “chance” to win the cup.
Thanks Matt !

That was primarily for the division and President's Trophy, each a franchise first, so of course there was a ceremony. I'm sure that every team has a ceremony for "franchise first" achievements and will continue to do so.

Those who whine the loudest are usually completely clueless or self appointed hockey elitists. They're the common clave of the new NHL...you know...morons.

After a rapid pace 1st day, crickets on 2nd day. I'm still wondering if Bonino, or less likely Smith will get moved. As we've discussed, ain't nobody going to take Turris!

What, or who, do you think would want to deal? Who else could we add?

I think Bonino has the most trade value, but it would probably be for pick(s) and/or prospects. It would free up 4.1 million in cap space. Get Sissons re-signed and see where the cap is after that. Sissons is a younger comparable version of Bonino. The log jam at center is astounding. See what's left, if anything, of the UFA's for a winger!
Plan B would be to re-sign Boyle, but guess what? He's a center!!

Michael Ferland could possibly be a good option, but I'm not sure how much he would cost.

I guess Poile will listen to offers, I wonder if he has anyone in mind, though. I could also see both on the roster in October.

If Turris has a half decent season, I'd think they would consider moving him at the trade deadline. He'd build some equity and we could possibly dump that contract. Or, he earns that contract and we're in a good spot by that time.

I agree on Turris. Hopefully, his bad play was due to injury. He might very well have a bounce back season. We can only hope!

I know right? How dare the Preds have the audacity not to have been in the league for a hundred years and dare to celebrate their first real taste of high level success! We can't all receive that first class express ticket to the finals that Vegas got. I do kind of hope the team doesn't make too big a deal of the Central Division title from last year... Not in the mood to celebrate anything that happened last year, even an accidental division title....

You know what, no, I take it back. If it's going to annoy the trolls so much, then do it.
