It’s been reported that up to 10 teams are interested which could end up creating a bidding war....I would for the right price but I would avoid overpaying for what is currently an unknown

Nice blog other than the PO’s begin with divisional match ups. Regular season games are not nearly as important.

Regular season games determine if you make the playoffs or not so I would argue they are just as important

Aside from swapping talbot for smith, have the oilers done a single thing in the last 4 months to change their roster? Looks like the same AHL roster as last year. McD needs 200 points if you want a shot at playoffs

I know a number of our commentors have discussed the merits own bringing in Gusev over the past few weeks.

You're welcome freeloader.

I'd offer something like Pulju and a 2nd, not much more. If they don't want that then I'd offer-sheet Gusev for 3-5M and 2-4 years.

One look at this roster should make the 2020 1st borderline untouchable unless it is part of a deal that results in a complete roster overhaul (not happening).

Well if 4 games are the decider that is a bubble team & not a very high goal.

Exactly you don’t want to give up a 1st in what’s considered to be a deeper/better draft in 2020 and besides that didn’t work out too well for the Sens in the end

5'9 160 lbs ...26 years old with no NHL games played and he wants 4 million per with a minimum 2 years......next please.....I understand the interest given the status he has put up in the KHL....I'd go 2M maybe 2.5M for 1 year + a club option for a second.

And Panarin was 22 and those numbers were way better than Gusev's 22 year old season.

I think Gusev is a great player but Dadonov is your comparable.

lmao, when freelancer made the crack about shoot out moves, i had visions of schremp dance through my head. other than the bidding war, the Oilers have taken worse gambles (whitney, and barker). it would be nice, but im wary of the khl to nhl transition. Anton Belov was a top dman in the khl, and when you see him in oilers silks he shouldnt have been on the ice. Just points to ponder.

dont you feel 3-5 m is a little pricey for fleury sized poop that hasnt laced up in a nhl game?

I agree with this comp. That being said, Dadanov is well worth 4M AAV.
