https://www.nhl.com/player/ryan-dzingel-8476288 Only his 3rd year in the NHL. scored 26 goals last year and 23 the year before that... I would have been upset if we signed him at 5 mill + a year but under 3.5 is a steal IMO. Solid player that puts up points and can fly. I would have liked him a lot at that number.

Yeah but he's also 27

I am a little shocked that Dzingel did not get at least 4 or 5 mill a year. 27 year old center with solid numbers every year.
- niteislander

I dont think he is a center. NHL.com has him at C but he took 95 FOs all season.

Honestly at this point I wouldn’t be unhappy if I saw any semblance of trying to help our offense in some way😂

Really holding out and hoping that he's working to get Gusev and/or working on something bigger that nobody sees coming. Otherwise this offseason will be yet another in a long line of disappointments

If we don’t wind up doing anything I don’t want to hear any we swung and missed oh well excuses. Heard enough of those over the last 12 years, they meant nothing to me a decade ago and mean even less to me now, and I would hate to pick up where our last gm left off... Wouldn’t be a good look.

Honestly, how do we know we didn't swing and miss on anyone else other than Panarin?

Unless you know something no one else but Lou knows? Beers with casey and MM again?

I think you missed my point. I don’t care if we did saying “oh well we tried” lost it’s flavor a decade ago. Results are all that matters.

So is Brock Nelson.. similar stats. ... I'll move on now but he would have been a good sign at that number.

I get it, but this isn't the Snowball Wang Brothers and Crapuano Circus.

Last off season we were looking at a season ending with a lottery pick, doom and gloom and we made the POs and even won a first round which in itself is amazing. I think Lou and Co are well aware of their needs and will address it. Whether its from our prospects if they feel they are ready or making a trade. Its only July and I think there are options out there.

Looking at the track record of the new crew I have more faith than I did before, under the idiot known as Snow.

Would you give him 2 years at 4 million per? Seems his camp thinks thats what he's worth.

1000%

I'd probably even go to 5, on a two year deal. He was easily the best player not playing in the NHL on the planet and a two year term has absolutely no risk.

If he doesn't express interest in extending here as soon as we'd (hypothetically) be able to extend him...trade him for assets after the first year.

5 Million per ? On a two year deal? He should prove he can play in the NHL first no?

I'll have what you're having. Starting the weekend early?

I mean Komarov got $3M a year over four years and he's proven he really can't play in the NHL, so I figure the extra $2M for a guy who was well above a PPG in Russia is fine with me

I would be excited if the Isles got him.. but 5 mill a year would be a lil scary.

Hey just moved to Tampa area here in Florida and have been out of touch with transactions. I noticed the islanders haven’t done much. Seems like they put all their eggs in one basket with Panarin. It looks like the same team with the same players for the last 5 years or so. I guess it’s up to some of the young guys to make the team and make an impact.
