Yep, and Chicago's troubles are mostly on the South and West sides.

Water to the East.
Hmm
4 - 3 = 1 safe side. Got it.

Another expansion deal...

I could write a lot about Hasek and that trade.....

What do you do with the following:

Ed Belfour - The best goalie on the planet
Jimmy Waite (8th overall pick) The future Roy...
Dominik Hasek - 28 years old and basically a weirdo with his style in which North American coaching has never seen anything like it...

You can only protect 2 of them, who do you protect? of course this is in 1992 - not in hindsight....

If Wirtz were smart he would have accepted the offer from Quebec: Lindros for Belfour, Steve Smith (and a few other pieces)... Then the Hawks retain Hasek and Waite, Hasek becomes - Hasek - and the Hawks go on to be a dynasty with Lindros & Roenick....

Didn't go down that way because Wirtz didn't want to pay $5,000,000 as part of the trade...

So yea, the fact and circumstances which caused Hasek to ended up in Buffalo is pretty insane....

They also wanted Cristian Ruutu in a bad way and the Hasek deal with Buffalo enabled them to get him.

They traded him to the Sharks the following summer anyways.

guys, its not joki or joker. its jokesonyou. that is closer to the actual pronunciation of his name.

i hope he blows out his knee in his first practice so i can feel better about this trade.
(not really)

while most of the hawk fans on this site are penciling bustlander for top 6 duties, i am skeptical if ever makes it the NHL.

Right, Because there's no East side to the city.

Also, no one has brought this up in a while.

Are we actually comfortable with a Hutton/Ullmark combo for this upcoming season?

Positions I'm worried about, from least to most

LW
RD
G
LD
C
RW

The RWs are worse than centers imo

I think we have two more trades coming. If they can get another top 6 winger, I am find with Mitts as the 2nd line center this year.

They need another RW badly. Suddenly RW Sheary is in the top-6, or else mojo or Olofsson playing their off wing instead

ATM, i think its best for olofsson to move to RW.

Skinner Eichel Olofsson (helps olofsson the most)
Johansson Mitts Reinhart (helps Mitts the most)

Hoping we get a top 6 RW still, but I dont hate this.

You realize Jokiharju is probably the 2nd best Dman in our system now? Only behind Dahlin. I dont care if Nylander develops into a 65 to 70 point player (which he has a very low probability of doing) I would make this trade everyday.
- Mentalorgasm5

He’s played a handful of games. Description of him sounds like a pysk. Does everything ok, excels at nothing. Let’s not anoint him a Calder yet.

2 more trades would be a crazy offseason. I can’t remember an off-season where a Gm made 5-6 trades.

He’s predicted as a Top 4 possible top pair. Nobody ever considered Piss boy to be more than an adequate NHLer.

We don’t have to prepare a parade for Joker but we can be more excited for him
Than Pysyk.

And nylander was projected as a top line winger. I think we always get so excited and read a scouting report saying a players high projection and think it will happen. Just saying let’s temper some expectations.

To me he is guaranteed to be an NHL d-man. Realistic projection says #4, could be a top pair, could end up being a good #5. Regardless RHD are hard to come by and I like the move for us.
