Column A: Defensemen Botterill has acquired:

Hunwick, Dahlin, Miller, Montour, Joker, Scandella, Pilut

Column B: Darcy/Murray:

McCabe, Risto, Bogo, Nelson

Perhaps 2, but certainly one of column b should "pack their poop" as Mike Commodore says

Is there a Botterill interview out there about acquiring him
- TheSabresTaco

Just a press release. That's basically the whole quote

"Henri is a young, mobile defenseman who has shown he can compete at the NHL level. His international success last season only furthered his development and we are excited to add him to our current group of defensemen"

I think he's here to play

- jcragcrumple

Of course they are gonna say something like that though

It makes sense that he will be here and Risto will be moved...
but it doesn’t HAVE to happen

There is the option to send Jokiharju down is all i was pointing out

Oooooh sorry we were looking for Who is Andy Delmore.

Now how much is that going to cost you?

You had 14,700, and you wagered?.......

14,700....

Ouch that’s gonna hurt.

Well there is that. Doesn't hurt to have Chuck Fletcher in the big chair. We have plenty of vets to sell him. And apparently they're shopping for vets to keep their window open as long as possible. Giroux will be 32 midseason. Once Voracek and Giroux start showing their age, that forward group is going to be a rough bunch.

it was brought up on GR yesterday, it seems that we are literally cornering the market on RHD. Does give us a position of strength to trade from...

So when they're ready to play...

Waiving Nelson is bad asset management. Something Botterill simply doesn't subscribe to.

Bro. It's Chuck Fletcher. I'd have to look, and even though I'm not really interested in doing so, I read some pieces that included Fletcher looking to "keep the window open as long as possible" around the draft time/around the signing of Hayes.

Botts also drafted:
Johnson. 2019 Round1, 31st
Samuelsson, 2018 Round2, 32nd overall
Cronholm, 2018 Round4 (looks good so far)
Laaksonen, 2017 Round3 (developing GREAT)
Bryson 2017 Round4 (also developing nicely)

Botts has done a fantastic job building defensive depth, which GMTM ignored

Now he’s gotta do that with the forwards

even before yesterdays trade I liked our Defense with the additions of Montour and Miller, Now if Joker can be a top 4, I really love our D.

We are a competent #2 Center and winger away from really looking good "on paper"

Throw in all the laughy emojis you want, it's not about "missing" players. It's about asset management. You don't just let NHL players get picked up for free if they have any value.

Almost all GMs follow this. Unless you're unemployed Peter (frank)ing Chiarelli. A guy hits the waiver wire when his value is about zero in the NHL. Either his salary is too high or the 30 other teams don't have a roster spot for him. Clearly Jason has hopes that Sobotka is worth a minimum asset.

You build from the blue line out through the center position.

The back end is set and the centers at least for the future look set.
