Nope not moving on because according to some saying we can't afford Laine, Skinner, Eichel, Dahlin, and Reinhart all at or around 9M, Botts is a cheap mic-(frank)face. Cap shmap, tie up 45M of the 82M in 5 players, 3 of them wingers. Plan the parade gents.

Is that why Laine tied for 109th in points last year. Trouba got the same amount of points as him. I'm not arguing the validity of paying your stars. I'm arguing your thought of what a star is. If you pay your top 5 players 45M, cool. What if they are middle of the pack (meaning your best is ~ top 15/20, 2nd best is ~45/55 etc.) aren't you in the same spot as you were before? I mean I would rather have the top one making 11/12 a year and the last one (where Laine sits, as your 4/5 best) at 7/8M. Because if he's not scoring he's atrocious and a 3rd liner at best.

Take the full quote or none at all. Disingenuous at best right there. "If he's not scoring goals" was the first part of that. And yes, one bad year doesn't make or break a guy. My thought is, we have our "one trick pony" in Skinner. Let's aim for someone a little more well rounded. That's all. You wanna hitch your horse to Laine, fine, I don't disagree he's probably a good one. I would rather hold off and see if we can't find someone else. I'm a fan of risto and would like to see what he does not having to play 25+ min a night. I know we just traded for Colin Miller but can he be used to bring in a 2C while we wait for mitts to develop? (I think Miller is overvalued)

Do the preds want to get out from turris contract? can he be had cheap?

-sabres trade Miller to Oilers for pulji + late pick (or something similiar with another team)
-sabres flip pulji and pick to Ottawa for 1.5mil cap retention on okoposo.
- sabres trade okoposo and another 1.5mil rentention for turris.
