Max deal is 3-4 years for UFA currently.
Mince the last of the dinosaurs are pushed out UFA is going to change drastically.

They're both righties. They both go in the same spot, ideally. If you watch their highlights, they both score from the same spot. Could you do something different? Sure, but it wouldn't be what they do best. They are redundant on the PP, and PP is what Laine does best.

This does not apply to ELCs

If player ops out goes into new bucket of exclusive rights RFA

If signed by new club, new team forfeits two first round picks or old players club choice of prospect and a 2nd rd pick.

I would think the upcoming expansion draft and the expiring CBA had a lot of influence on this year's free agency.

I think you are going to see that more and more with Vegas. The team is already insanely popular over there. It's a destination for obvious reasons, and even the people that live there absolutely love it because out-of-towners rarely go off the Strip, which is great for privacy.

The early contracts signed were based / assumptions that the salary cap was going to go up.

Some of the signing during free agency reflect the no cap change and not as high as expected.
