Poehling is not a lock development camp is not the NHL and one game is not a career. I like the kid but this is why the fans in montreal are so tough to deal with. Really a lock not so I am sorry. (why bring in cousins and the like then?)

PS stay away from Gardiner let him be he is not the answer stay the course and this team will be strong in a couple of years.

I'd like to see Poehling start the year on the 4th and see what he can do. They just need to get rid of a couple of plugs to unclog the lineup for that to happen.

IMO, if the Habs really wanted to sign Gardiner they wouldn't have signed Chiarot.
- BashCH

I think they had strong interest in him (sadly) but likely felt with what he was asking for and the term it wasn't worth it so settled with Chiarot which is smart on Bergys behalf. They're likely done adding on defense until they see what they have. They obviously still need a Top 4 puck mover on the left side but with Mete, Chia and Kulak it's better than what they had last year. Obviously expecting steps forward in Meat and Kulak's games

The more I examine the Chiarot addition the more I love it. Fans are gonna love this guy

I disagree, Poehling will be on the roster to start the year barring something ridiculous. He showed he is ready in his debut and absolutely dominated at the rookie camp. He's grown into his body standing now at 6'2 210. They won't throw him to the wolves right away but I wouldn't be surprised to see him eventually move into a Top 6 role at some point this year. This kid is the real deal.

Cousins was a value pick up, for 1 million you get a solid player who can plug in up and down your lineup with the potential to give you 30-40 points, Bergy has a great track record of picking cheap guys up like that (Byron, Kulak and Weal to name a few) and them going on to out perform expectations but he's not in the way of Poehling, Suzuki, Evans. If those guys are ready they will get the spot

I still expect him to keep his pace of 3 goals/game this year.

I think he has a shot, but I wouldn't mind seeing him start in Laval and play a few months under Bouchard.

Well he's grown into his body and is now a full 210lbs so 4 goals per game is not impossible

Yes exactly, he is a good plugger. Nobody claimed he was a superstar you donk, that's why he signed for a million. I would still take Cuzzy at 1m than 3rd line C Hayes at 7 any day of the week

The city of Montreal is a (frank)ing dumpster fire. We can hate Toronto sports fans all we want but their city is a lot better.
