Thanks Carol! Looking forward to the start of camp, seeing how they all mesh together and what TG can pull out of this group. |

Also, not too worried about the cap when we have to re-up Peter and Hughes. There are only 6 contracts that last longer than two years right now, 7 when Boeser signs. I’m sure one or two of those will be traded by then too.
Still lots of room to maneuver when the point comes to sign those two. |

Benning on Virtanen : "Every year he shows improvement, getting Ferland will be good for Jake. Watching Micheal and how physical he plays will be beneficial for Jake." |

Carol Schram: Micheal Ferland fills a need, but the Canucks' roster is now very crowded
Jim Benning added a power forward to his group when the Vancouver Canucks inked Micheal Ferland to a four-year contract on Wednesday, further crowding his forward roster as Brock Boeser and Nikolay Goldobin remain unsigned. - Carol Schram
Great deal on Ferland, wish we had the cap space to do that. Ferland never duplicated that kamikaze style he played with against you guys in the playoffs. But it sure got him in the NHL. But he is one tough hombre & when he lays someone out, its fun to watch. He thinks he is more offensive than what he probably really is & I found when they moved him off the top line & put him on the 3rd line he wasnt happy & he wasnt noticeable & playing his game. Worry about his concussions, he has had a few but great person & you guys will enjoy him in your lineup.
Nothing wrong with this deal but I thought Benning made a horrible trade for Miller. We shall see I guess. |

Ooh, I certainly did mean Brooks Orpik. Thanks, I'll fix that!
And yes — I believe any bonuses that don't fit under a current year's cap hit will carry over to the next season.

“My understanding is that #Canucks were the only team willing to give Michael Ferland 4 years. Other teams were involved but on 3-year deals. His NMC turns into a modified NTC for 3rd year of deal so he does not require expansion draft protection.” |

No doubt Benning has made some panic signings. Not totally sold on defence either. I would definitely make some smaller cap relieving deals immediately. |

Seems like a good signing and fills the need for physicality that all those Lucic rumors were predicated on. Who fits where on that left side? Figure it'll go Ferland, Baertschi, Roussel and Pearson w/ Boeser, Miller, Leivo and Virtanen on the right? Eriksson subbing-in until they can find a trade partner? |

Benning knows what he’s doing. The Vancouver media has programmed too many fans to automatically worry about the team and b!+€# and moan about every draft pick and signing. |

Virtanen is garbage, LE is garbage, Schaller/ beagle were a waste but not garbage, Juolevi is an unknown, Tanev should have been gone 2 years ago, Sutter is garbage, Miller cost too much, Edler should have been traded 5 years ago...
What's the plan here? I don't see any planning taking shape... Just middling around making good picks, except Virtanen, and wasting cap space on guys that makes sure we don't do an actual rebuilding... |

Thanks much Carol!
Ironic how quickly Jimmy can make almost 30 mil in cap space disappear.

Geez...I wonder who predicted that was coming?

Pearson Horvat Miller - Pacificgem
fixed that for you because Jim Benning said so.
Baertschi 3rd line with Sutter and Virtanen then.
Where does Goldy play? He's training hard except for he has no idea how to keep his feet moving. |
