Didn’t Greening just retire after the Marlies we’re beat out this year?
- Garnie

Yes.

They are retiring his jersey in Ottawa in October. P5.

Good thing we’re a rich team or it would be another 1000 years without a cup
- Garnie

It still could be.

I still feel like the Leafs will be up by 5 in SCF game 7 with a few minutes left and Armageddon will begin, interrupting gameplay. But then I'll just start shooting hardcore heroin.

I could see that. That is not gud pro behaviour. That is bad pro behaviour.

I agree.. I think that last suspension forced Dubas' hand.

You've been notably absent, since every time RJ says anything, we notice it's not you.

. . .You had said a few weeks ago that Kadri had to go. I was more on the fence thinking the contract was a good one to keep.

Looks like you were right. I think we'll miss him at times, but having a 3rd line centre who plays an entire playoff series will be kinda neat!

“So what happened is they had a deal in place and they wanted me to move my no-trade clause,” Kadri told co-hosts Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek. “But you know, obviously, for me, it was no disrespect to Calgary or the Flames organization. I love their team and I love the direction they’re headed. I just figured that had I declined, I would have had a better opportunity of being a Maple Leaf next year and that’s really what it came down to. I wanted to play for the Leafs next year. I wanted to be a part of that. In declining that trade I had aspirations of being a Leaf and we know clearly that didn’t happen."

Kadri wanted to be a Leaf for life. Whatever people say about what he did or whatever, the dude really cared, and was treated pretty poopty by Wilson and those Richards. I hope he does really well in Colorado.

And as an added bonus, he got the leafs a better trade in the end. Good guy Kadri.

Honestly, I get that getting suspended two years in a row in the playoffs was of detriment to the Leafs chances of moving past the first round. It showed a lack of emotional control, or maturity, or whatever you want to call it.

But at the same time, there are way worse reasons to feel like you need to ship a guy out for standing up for his teammates. I'm a bit of a "passionate" guy myself, and I really feel his heart was in the right place (even if his head wasn't).

The part that frustrated me was, like, you are playing a sport where it's more or less acceptable to go and fight that guy -- just go drop the mitts with him and do it right and you're only looking at a five minutes. Same message sent. But he just lost it and cross checked him in the head which was an auto suspy.

LA is going to retire his jersey, but Ottawa will be required to raise his left sleeve to the rafters of the Canadian Tire Centre.

He wasn't standing up for his teammates.

What he did was incredibly selfish.

Standing up for your teammates is being a big boy, not throwing a petulant temper tantrum, and being on the ice for the remaining games of the series.

He had to go.
