Nice write up Ben.

For me if you deserve to play you will under Barry no matter what age, experience etc. They are trying to field the best team to win not play the highest contracted players or Vets imho. If the prospects or Kids earn a spot they will play.

Hopefully Lou comes to work soon.

Trouba 7 x 8 per. Not much left for the Rags in terms of Cap space with RFAs to sign.

Kreider would be a fit on the Isles.

Would be a great fit, but almost no chance we trade within division

Could not agree more Ben. Isles need more, youth, speed, and skill at forward. Defense will be way ahead of the forwards with Pulock, Toews, Pelech, Leddy, and Dobson and Wilde in the pipeline.

I’ll speak with Holland. He can acquire Special K and then trade him to the Islanders. Problem solved.

You’re welcome.

Ladd will either be on LTIR or buried in BPT.

By the time Lou left NJ we had the oldest and slowest team in the league. He is relatively new on the island so you can’t lay the blame solely on him but, it definitely seems to be a trend when he is at the helm.

After winning multiple Stanley Cups in NJ of course.

Then moved on to the Leafs and helped turn them around in no time.

After which he came here hired one of the best coaches in the game (who agrees to come here which in itself is amazing), and turns the losing shat hole culture around and the team makes the POs and wins a round in year one under his watch.

Yeah Guys terrible, real wild card, loser, Islanders probably should look to firing him.

Don't get the hate as well. At least after year we went from worst to best in GAA and swept pens in Rd. 1. And we did it without De Haan and JT...

Negativity is something you’ll need to get used to around here.

Lou has given too much $ and term to late 20's players who have had only 1 good year.

Thank you!

Fair enough, all the contracts can make it difficult for MDC or Ho-Sang to even get the chance to show they deserve to play though.

I'm going to have to see Leo sitting before I believe it. Leo and Hickey both should have been given no more than 2 year deals.

Always difficult to break in but if they deserve it more they will play. Just makes no sense to sit someone that THE COACH thinks makes the team better.
Toews came up last year and played well, never looked back and Hickey sat. MDC was given time and games with the big club as well. He played well but honestly didn’t make the impact Toews made and he wasn’t a regular.
Typically it’s the defensive side of the game that dictates when a player is trusted by the coach enough to crack the lineup and stay in it.
This year there is room upfront for some youngsters to prove themselves. Will any make the squad, time will tell.
