The Oilers "big win" is paying Neal 6.35M

Nobody is expecting big things from Lucic...he is a better fit for a 3rd/4th line than Neal. Yeah we know the contract sucks...so did Neal's contract.

After this season Lucic will have 3 years left, a 5.25 contract, but only owed just over 9M in actual salary...seems like a prime candidate for a cheap ass team trying to reach the cap floor.

Highly doubt Lucic is in Calgary for 4 years

Also, how is Neal scoring with McDavid relevant? Its pretty sad if a Flames healthy scratch is their first line winger

What's sad is the amount of effort Calgary had to go through to get him to accept a trade to the Flames. What makes it worse is the knowing how bad he wanted out of Edmonton and still had to be convinced to waive.

Neal was a horrible signing by BT. No other way to spin it, BT was desperate to get rid of him. Had to get him out of the room. Is it Neal or Peters ? Not sure but Neal on to his 5th team in 6years. If Lucic isn't a complete bumhole, Calgary wins !

Actually, this is something I respect about Lucic. He was an Oiler for 3 years and tried to be a good teammate, and the Flames were the enemy. So after being invested like that a very reasonable initial reaction would be, "You want me to go where??? H E L L NO!". Now that he has thought it through and switched sides I expect him to bring that team first single-mindedness to Calgary.

Contrast that with the ironically named "Real Deal" who reportedly ASKED to be traded to the Flames' arch rivals! Shock this guy is now on team #7, or whatever... Good riddance! Only thing is how bad it will suck when he comes back and scores a hattrick against us on his first trip back!
