He'll be right on IR, and I think that most of his contract is insured, so won't cost as much as it looks like. As it won't affect the cap beyond saving a little on Sparks, and doesn't cost the Leafs much of their actual cash, I assume that's why the compensation is relatively low.

With Paddy it was that Carolina are a competitive team, and we had them pay millions out of their own pockets for him as they had to pay his bonuses...
