Meant we didn’t have to put Matthew’s and Marner’s bonuses offnuntil the next cap year which would have cost a few million against this season’s cap. They don’t get bonuses on next contract so no issue going forward.

What many are missing here is that you can only use LITR if you are spending close to the cap. Horton’s wouldn’t help alone. Adding
Clarkson’s cap hit helps in that regard.

The rules in using LITR are complex. This move does help the leafs and decreases Marner’s leverage regarding the cap crunch at the start of the season.
