The dollars seem good in this deal, but 7 years for a role player seems like a bit of a gamble.

Exactly 7 years...
We should have kept PK, dump Turris (somehow)

The term is fine. The money is fine. Actually, they are both beyond fine.

Colton is young and the dollars are low, especially in today's salary market. Plus, the way the deal is structured pretty much ensures a "no harm" situation down the road should he not continue to improve, which I think he will.

Sissons is a somewhat of unique run-of-the-mill role player. (I know - my statement is a contradiction but it still has validity.)

Good move DP - term and $$ are fine. Ignore the detractors and the peanut gallery. Same praise to you DP for the PK move even though I really, really liked the man as a player and even more as a person. PK was my wife's only choice for her new jersey and it was a finalist for mine and might have been mine had she not first wanted his name on hers. However, the PK move will more than likely pay big dividends in the long term.

OK we get your displeasure concerning these two players. You are really starting to show your lack of hockey knowledge.

Its funny how the mental midget says every other signing outside of Nashville is crazy and teams don't know what they're doing....Then Nashville gives long term dollars to a role player for 7 years who is a questionable contributor, but lets PK walk, and he claims it will be seen a "Steal". Nashville could sign some 95 year old man on his death bed, and somehow Paul would find a ways to justify what a great signing this is! He proves blog after blog he knows absolutely nothing about hockey and hopes the uneducated Nashville readers believes the crap he spews....hopefully some of you are smarter because I have to believe that there's a Preds fan out there somewhere who has some common sense......

I'll give you a preview of a his Cup Champion for the upcoming season.....NASHVILLE....I know, it's a shocker......

You have to put the PK trade into perspective. He was not traded so they can sign Sissions long term. Instead, he was traded to open up enough cap space to bring in Duchene. With that lets put the signing of Duchene in perspective. Duchene scored 31 goals and had 39 assists for a total of 70 points with most of his season being on the worst team in the league. Last year's big signing was John Tavares who for $11 million per year scored 47 goals, 41 assists and a total of 88 points. Did the Preds get a John Tavares? I guess time will tell but even if they didn't, they are paying him $3 million less per year.

You do have to put the P.K. trade into perspective... The perspective being, that trade was basically Subban for Duchene... Every asset received from NJ was basically a throw in. Would I have liked more in return? Of course, we all would have, but Poile put himself in that position with the terrible Turris and Ellis contracts. To add offense, he had to trade the one movable asset with value that he had, and was forced to deal him to the one team willing to take on the entire contract and he got what he got. Essentially a ham sandwich. The gamble paid off and David got the guy he's been coveting for for the past two seasons, and hopefully the move will prove worth it.

I get why a lot of Preds fans like the Sissons contract... Homegrown, solid player. I have no problem with the money or the player, but I'm always going to question giving a bottom six forward a seven year term. This reeks to me of one of those weird moves, that only DP makes, that he thinks are going to make him look like a genius, but just as often come back to bite him on the butt. Maybe I'm just worried, because we all know what happens to a lot of these Preds core players when they sign their big contracts... Hopefully Colton doesn't suddenly get content and lazy like some of his predecessors. Then again, he's a bottom six player, so their effort tends to be a bit more consistent than the higher profile players. Funny how that works when you have to fight for your spot night in and night out.

PK’s parting shot at the Preds.....priceless! Can’t wait for Paul’s spin on this one!

Awe poor P.K.'s butt hurt over being traded again. Too bad for Jersey they won't have to worry about raising any banners with that overpaid overrated turnstile posing as their number 1 defensenmen.

Good riddance he is not a #1 defenseman and thinks only of himself. Glad I don't have to watch him flop around on the ice like a fish on dry land.
